Nabukodonosor 11
I wanted to install the latest Beta release, so I deleted the one I installed from the store, and installed the beta, but for some reason I can't unlock the app, it doesn't recognize my licence. Any ideas why?
ebr 14913
Side loaded apps cannot access the store. Reinstall the one from the store and restore your purchase. Then do not uninstall it -just install the beta over it.
Nabukodonosor 11
I tried that first, but I got an error installing it. Will take a picture of it. EDIT: https://prnt.sc/UmVPPUPjndHl Edited February 26 by Nabukodonosor

ebr 14913
Sorry, I'm not sure what the issue is with installing from the store for you. Can you install other apps?
Nabukodonosor 11
What do you mean from the store? I'm not installing from the store, I'm trying to install the beta version, so I'm sideloading it. And yes, I can install other apps. When I delete the app and try to install the apk it installs fine. But if I try it over the existing version, I get this. ebr 14913
Exactly what version is installed already and what version are you trying to install? The new one has to have a higher version number.
Nabukodonosor 11
I think 2.0.98. I'm trying to install the latest beta.

Nabukodonosor 11
Fire Stick 4k Max Jesus, I think I know how to install an app. It installs fine if I delete the one I downloaded from the store.
ebr 14913
Hi. I'm trying to help you but we don't control the process of side-loading an app on that device so I'm not really sure why it is giving you a problem.

signde 25
Bumping a slightly old topic here but in the exact same boat as OP. AFTV Stick 4K Max 2023 Emby for Amazon Fire TV 2.0.98a installed from the Amazon App store and unlocked. Downloaded latest Amazon beta 2.1.0.9 from here. Sideload install fails with below error. INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package tv.emby.embyatv signatures do not match previously installed version; ignoring! Sideloading without the app installed works but then the app cannot be unlocked. Is sideloading over the existing App Store version going to work? signde 25
so is this just not possible or is the fire tv bundle that was uploaded just incorrectly signed?
ebr 14913
Just now, signde said: so is this just not possible or is the fire tv bundle that was uploaded just incorrectly signed? I don't know why it isn't working for you. The package has not changed.
signde 25
I though maybe this was FireOS 8 related so I tried these same steps on a 2019 Firestick 4k which is FireOS 6.3.9.6. This resulted in the same error. adb: failed to install /Users/ryan/Downloads/app-amazon-release.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Package tv.emby.embyatv signatures do not match the previously installed version; ignoring!] I extracted the bundle from the FireTV with adb and ran apksigner on both it and the downloaded one. I could be off base here but I don't think they match? app-amazon-release.apk Signer #1 certificate DN: CN=Mark Linton, OU=LCS Software, O=LCS Software, L=Fraser Valley, ST=BC, C=CA Signer #1 certificate SHA-256 digest: 7aa70c91a0852372a4f2cde427fa3ca5b7adc3dae42f21d6575cc378018130c9 Signer #1 certificate SHA-1 digest: 07554557251ba745dba935c0874a65220936cd33 Signer #1 certificate MD5 digest: aa9ebc58bf97868595c0d48408cd0b10 Signer #1 key algorithm: RSA Signer #1 key size (bits): 2048 Signer #1 public key SHA-256 digest: b3d70f997a6376412c8c43f9a8aa5dfccf065f6fa6abdb940d92d758aa868c50 Signer #1 public key SHA-1 digest: 42c0ba27efcafb95294704216ea25a698edf59d0 Signer #1 public key MD5 digest: 23d6fb2481017d6855899a56d9194579 tv.emby.embyatv.apk Signer #1 certificate DN: CN=linton mark Signer #1 certificate SHA-256 digest: ba1d2cdf0309007681ca5b178b4144971fa8946e89df8d40c45ef352de84c001 Signer #1 certificate SHA-1 digest: 8e8713300a8cbfefb5404304e4167d40ec963bc9 Signer #1 certificate MD5 digest: 14933199d659c3781f98432b6fb16841 Signer #1 key algorithm: RSA Signer #1 key size (bits): 2048 Signer #1 public key SHA-256 digest: a87f4c44b5436479b7e50df9b173555c8ba8e1fc47571f279b1cf3883a5af77c Signer #1 public key SHA-1 digest: f96186bf0355e141cc2eb653a79e6c0a1a20d10a Signer #1 public key MD5 digest: c44290deb77388ac15c9fa2eca7de824
Luke 37071
Very strange because they're both generated with the same process.
