Hi there, what exactly happens when you try to remote connect?

Annie Sixgun

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.xxx:8096.

or just hangs with the timer circle running

OK, I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter:

Connectivity

Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.

Sounds like a port forwarding issue.  Does the server log show port mapper errors?

Still trying to answer your first question...  As for port mapping errirs,, What do I look for??

To locate your server's internal address, simply open the Emby Server Dashboard on the Emby Server machine, typically http://localhost:8096  works

If the above still does not work, please ensure the machine running Emby Server is turned on, and that the Emby Server application is running.Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/emby-server.service; enabled; vendor p>
Active: active (running) since Wed 2024-02-14 16:56:08 EST; 2h 11min ago
   Main PID: 1234 (EmbyServer)
      Tasks: 29 (limit: 18784)

Canyouseeme.org results

Error: I could not see your service on 73.255.xxx.xx on port (8096)
Reason: Connection refused

Error: I could not see your service on 73.255.xxx.xx on port (8920)
Reason: Connection refused

You do not want to put your WAN on a public forum.

Can you post a server log.  or check it for port mapper error.

Directions are in the link I attached above go to the server logs section as there are different ways to access logs.  But dashboard download is potentially the easiest.

So you will have to do manual portforwarding on your router.

@GrimReapercan you get the hyperlinks in first post also.  Text is masked but not actual link.
