Remote control disconnect -> fallback Volume

Hi

I noticed that when I play music on my Samsung TV and control the app (volume) from my phone, the volume only changes in the app on the TV. So if I unplug the phone and continue listening on the TV, there is no way to adjust the app volume, nor does it automatically reset to the maximum volume in the app. So if I had it very quiet, it stays “very quiet”.

Maybe that could be improved

Still the same problem

If I connect the TV via the app or web browser (remote control) and lower the volume in the app below, everything works as expected. However, if I then disconnect the TV, the volume remains at the last setting and cannot be adjusted locally on the TV. To increase the volume, I have to reconnect the remote control and then increase the volume. My idea would be that when I disconnect the remote control, a message appears on the TV stating that the phone has been disconnected, and the volume is reset to 100% upon confirmation.

Hi, why? When you connect and/or disconnect a mobile app to/from remote control of the TV, the volume on the TV should not change, right?

Not really, because if the last setting was very low, I can't achieve the volume I'd like.

You can't achieve the volume you want on the TV or the mobile device?

On the tv because it has the last setting and theres no way to change it locally on the tv so the only option is to reconnect  the phone, web app, etc and turn it back up to 100%.

Why do you have to turn it back up to 100%? I don't quite understand that part.

In my case, I turn on the audio system in the living room via my Samsung TV and remotely control it via the PC to listen to music while I work at Home. I always set the volume on the AV receiver quite high so I can control the volume via the PC. When I'm finished and turn off the computer, having forgotten to turn the volume back up (for example, the last setting was 10% in the Emby app), I can't increase the volume on the AV receiver enough to maintain the same volume (Emby volume 100% -> AV receiver approx. 35%).
The only option then is to reconnect via my phone or PC and set the volume in the app back to 100.

I don’t think we would want to automatically  turn the app volume up to 100%. If you had turned it down to 10% then disconnected, it would be disturbing to most people if it jumped up to 100%.

I think yours is a special case where you intentionally turn the app volume down and the receiver volume very high. I don’t think we can/should solve this within the app.
