http://192.168.1.98:8096/ is what it says in in my emby server is the in-home LAN access in settings.

Trying to access it from another PC gives me "This site can't be reached" timeouts. I can ping it fine from cmd prompt.

What am I missing here?

Firewalls are turned off.

Hi, are you able to access the web interface on the server machine?

Firewalls are turned off.

Sometimes this can cause more harm than keeping it on and configuring it. I would check out our Connection Troubleshooter:

Connectivity

Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.

Yes to your first question. Works great.

I followed that guide - turned my firewall on, and opened 8096. Still no dice.

I opened port 8096. I cannot connect to the server from another device on my home network.

Did you check windows firewall for any rules that are blocking emby?

Son of a- there were two rules that I looked at that said "embyserver.exe" with a red circle and a slash through it, that I turned to ALLOW and that was what got it working. The other rules had said allow so I had assumed I didn't need access to the exe to get remote access.

That got it working now.

Thank you for being persistent with me.
