NorthDegree 7 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I noticed in my Apple TV settings general settings , there is a option to turn on Emby, what exactly does this do?
Luke 39648 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hi, the most common usage is to ask it to play something.
slyfox 46 Posted January 7, 2024 Posted January 7, 2024 How specifically does Siri work with Emby? I enabled Siri to be used with Emby on a new Apple TV 4K today. I opened my Movies library in Emby and told Siri to play "13 Minutes." The movie is right there on my screen. The response: I couldn't find '13 minutes" in your Apple Music library. So, how does Siri work with Emby?
Luke 39648 Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 @slyfoxtry asking it to play 13 Minutes on Emby
slyfox 46 Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 (edited) @LukeWhen I do this from the Apple TV Home Screen, I get a message from Siri saying "You'll need to continue in Emby" The same message pops up when I am in the Movies section in Emby looking at the name of the poster of the movie that I want to play. When I say "Play Masters of the Air on Emby" it opens up Apple's TV App and starts playing the first Episode. Edited January 31, 2024 by slyfox

Luke 39648 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 This should be improved in the next update to Emby for Apple TV. Thanks.
garavelusta 1 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Hey @Lukeis there any progress on this? I also wonder if it supports Turkish? Siri doesn't work with emby. All I can do is start emby. I also noticed searching in Apple TV doesnt show emby movies/tv shows. Is there a way to do it?
JoshL 18 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Hi all, Emby's Siri integration only officially works with music and audiobook playback. This is based on limitations set by Apple and what it lets third-party apps do. Phrases like "Play the Beatles on Emby" should work but "Play [movie name] on Emby" will most likely not. If you're still getting the "You'll need to continue in Emby" response when trying to play music, we can look at improving this. Siri Universal Search Support is not open to all developers, and is based on a curated list of content maintained directly by Apple. Also, Turkish has not been tested, but playing music with Siri should work. Please let us know if it does!
