I watch a lot of Emby on my android phone in rather loud places.  Is there any way we can add an option to boost/amplify the volume?  I listen on a bluetooth earpiece (not headphones) and I have to think others would find this useful.

Hi. Can't you turn the volume up on the device?  Attempting to boost beyond that would undoubtedly  cause distortion.

Yes I know where the volume control is :).   There are many volume boosters out there that are ad driven and mostly don't work with emby.  They expect a music player.  As for distortion, let us be the judge of that :).  Some of these shows are so low volume that even moderate background noise makes it hard to hear.   Not much volume on a bluetooth device.

Hi, what do you mean by "they expect a music player'?

The apps only amplify through a music player built into the app

I have a volume booster app thats work but only for a couple hours. Would be nice to have one built into emby. I know its possible to do bc other streaming apps I have used has volume boost so I dont understand why it would be so complicated to implement in emby.

Nobody said that it's complicated. Thanks.

So 1.5 years and there is no traction on this. This is a basic feature available in other applications, when will this be implemented?

We need a center channel audio db boost feature/adjustment.

I have the same issue on my nvidia shield and chrome cast. Not all but most aac files have very low volume. They all work fine through kodi and I can adjust the volume for each file in kodi. Please add this feature. I want to run emby but this is stopping me from switching from kodi to a home server.

I have taken to re-encoding all of my videos with a 12 decibel boost. It's not perfect but it at least does work. I wish that it would be built into the application instead of relying on an external utility.

You can purchase a headphone amp that works with your phone.  It's usually used by audiophiles who amplify higher quality music from sites like HD Tracks or Tidal

You may have not run into these amplifiers, because they are usually considered overkill for online playback from general music sites.  See this discussion: Spotify quality forum post

The quality is quite good and I 've used them in the past.

A simple google search will show this is common issue end users are having. May not be at the forefront of new features however,  if it's not complicated, consider adding it. For me, until this is added I can not justify continuing subscription or a lifetime license.

How does it work with Bluetooth?  Besides, why would I want to carry something around with me all the time.

Needs a software fix.  Carrying another device is not an option and would not work with Bluetooth anyhow.

Jg,  Well, OK.  You are incorrect.  Some of the amps do work with Bluetooth.  I understand you do not care to have an extra piece of hardware.  Your wallet is likely to be twice the size of the amp.  How small are your pockets?

You are also mistaken to think that software can do anything.  You cannot really change an volume to your headphone that is already at full.  The energy has to come from somewhere to go beyond that volume.  There is nothing at the server side to increase the voltage of your bluetooth signal.  The audio signal is sent.  You received it.  It's volume can be anything you want with the amplification at your hardware end.  Software is not involved here.  That was mentioned above.  If you want additional volume then use a different or extra amp.

That's not true either. You can amplify a digital audio track. Simply increasing amplitude. I've never had this problem with kodi but it already has an amplification part to its software. As I said I already reincode the videos with a higher volume and that seems to work fine. It's just unfortunate it's not already built into MB

Hey Vis, the OP doesn't want Quality, just Quantity (loudness).

Seems pointless too argue with people that just want loud crap...

Regardless of the source file , Emby for android has an issue with output and volume. The difference with players for Emby and let's say kodi are huge. And adding an amplifier option would help many end users. Asking an end-user to purchase an additional hardware kit is ridiculous, fix the issue or add a feature in software.

Kodi plays and maintains the volume very well however,  the odd movie where the dialogue is low I just increase a few decibels.  Simple.

Hello, in Kodi it's volume amplification in the audio settings (when you play the video).

I'd actually just like to hear the videos without carry a stage-full of mixers and amps.   Like kodi.
