Server Not Found Error - Did You Remember to Check the Configurator Settings?

I kept getting server not found errors on all my home networked computers. I tried the suggestion of updating the software, and that did not work. I had forgotten about the settings in the configurator! For some reason, after a power outage or a router snafu, the address for the computer running the server changed. When I opened the configurator, I simply entered the new address of the server, and everything worked swimmingly.

I do point out that the original settings on the configurator were set to automatically find the server, so I am not sure why it stopping doing that. All is working fine now.

Two things you can do to prevent this in the future:

1) use the machine name instead of the IP address in the address field (recommended)

OR

2) configure the IP address on the server to be static

This is not just MBC related but why doesn't the auto discover mechanism detect the hostname of the sever instead of the IP? This would solve this issue.
