Hi There,

Just wondering about a few issues I'm having with metadata for a group of folders.

As you can see in the attached screenshots, fies are not being uploaded in the same structure as the folders on my computer.

Not sure if this is a plugin or settings issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, what exactly is the problem?

I will guess the reference to missing 005 and 007 from the image.

At the same time Emby really does not support that naming scheme and something is wrong with structure as you have a season and tvshow nfo file at the same level.

Hi there, indeed I am referring to the missing 005 and 007.

I had initially followed the recommended naming scheme:

/TV
      /Monogatari
               /Season 1
                      /Monogatari S01E01

But still faced the same problem with S05 and S07.

@pwhodges often mentiones Monogatari as headache-inducing, he might have a tip or two as to how to solve the issues regarding that particular series (IIRC it mostly just comes down to: follow TVDB). But I agree with @Happy2Play, something is off with your unsupported folder structure/file naming & odd NFOs placement.

The -monogatari series has been a right pain.

The TVDB default ordering places a third of the episodes into the "specials" category, as a result of which I initially tried simply putting them into the folders I wanted, with names that meant nothing to Emby.  For a while this worked, but then Emby changed how it handled folders containing files it recognised as specials, so I had to think of something else.

Absolute order doesn't work, because in this case TVDB just puts those same 40 episodes into the "unassigned" category, with the same problems.

I currently use DVD order, which is not structured according to the DVDs I have on my shelf, but still according to broadcast seasons!   So several arcs are still combined into the large "Second Season".  That's what I'm going with for now, because at least it's stable.

TVDB now has (today's the first time I've seen it) an order called "Book order".  This is perfect; however, Emby can't use it yet, because they still haven't got around to adding the TVDB api's "Alternate order" (which I believe would fetch this) to the options we can select.

The OP's ordering is similar to this "Book order", except that they don't include Kizumonogatari as the second season (or anywhere - presumably putting them in a separate movies library), so their season numbers after season 1 are offset by one from TVDB's book order!

So that's the situation.  The solution from the OP's point of view is to decide which option they can live with, and set that up.  And maybe to add their voice to the demands for the TVDB "alternate order" to be implemented by Emby.
