PortMapper Error in Logs - Windows 11

Hi All,

I am sure I am missing something stupidly easy, but after I ugpraded to Windows 11 (yeah, I was curious) - my server log is getting filled with this - could this be a firewall issue (I can see Emby everywhere, its not blocked, and Windows Firewall has exclusions created).

Would love some advice - have also included fresh log after restarting - the error begins at the end again.. It doesn't seem to be causing issues for me that I can see.

Cheers

Hi,

Sorry I missed your reply :)

I run an ASUS RT-AX98X - I have other 10gb switches throughout but they are not providing anything more than basic router - and as mentioned, really the only change besides a reinstall, was moving to Windows 11 and then updated to Win11 22H2. I manually assign IP address range for the server at the router, with ports open for it accordingly on Windows and router ofc :)

The server is currently down, as I am moving to Denmark shortly so have had to pack it for sea transport - but I am about to fire up a new server for the interim, this will be running Windows 10 so I am not sure if I will experience the issue again. I will update the thread once I get it up and running.

Cheers

If you have manually configured the port forwarding (good choice) then you do not need the port mapper - and imo, it's much safer to just remove it.

It is just attempting to use upnp to open the ports on your router - great idea 10 years ago - an unwanted security risk in 2022.

It's in Plugin's - so just delete it and restart emby.

Hi,

Yep, I am not seeing it at all on my Windows 10 build - as I mentioned, I am relocating internationally, so sadly I cant pull up the Windows 11 box as its already physically left the building so to speak.

Cheers
