No x265 direct play on Apple devices anymore...

Hello dear support,

since a few weeks it seems that it is no longer possible to play x265 video content without transcoding on Apple devices. There is then always the error message that no compatible streams are available. I suspect that it is related to an update from Apple OS or the Emby app. Other platforms like Andriod or FireTV are not affected. Is there a solution or a workaround for this?

Thanks very much!

Tested on iOS 16.0.2 on my iPhone 12, using Emby for iOS Beta 2.2.6 (1), h265 content appears to be direct playing. I am also not seeing any issues with direct playing h265 content using Emby for iOS 2.2.5 either.

The issue could be specific to certain media files or something with OP's setup.

I verified that the problem is: MKV video package, video encoding is h265, with ac3 audio track.

This problem occurs.

Hi RTVstyle,

that would be fatal. All of my videos have an AC3 audio track.
