sweetmslily 2
Hi there folks. First post. Tried searching and came up empty handed. I was looking for a way to add custom genre sorting parameters to the server. Specifically, I want to be able to sort films/content into LGBTQ as a genre. As far as I can see there isn't a plugin for this and I was not able to find a way to add it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, ~ Lily
Luke 37924
Hi, have you tried using the metadata editor to add this genre to one or more of your movies? Once you have the data into your movies, then you'll see the genre listed in the genre filters, genre lists, etc.
sweetmslily 2
No I haven’t but I can definitely try! I didn’t realize the genres are dynamically created based on those tags. I thought they were rigid. I’ll report back once I give it a shot.
Solution sweetmslily 2 Posted September 8, 2022 Author Solution Share Posted September 8, 2022 Awesome, this totally worked. So in future for anyone struggling with this in future, here's what I did. - Go to Edit Metadata for a file. - Scroll down to Genre - Click the Plus button - Add "LGBTQ" or whatever you want to call the genre. - Scroll down to bottom and click "Save" After that when you select "Genre" when sorting the Library, it will show "LGBTQ" as a category. Thanks for the help Luke!
seanbuff 928
Bonus Tip: Since Emby is yet to support native bulk metadata editing, you can use this very handy community built tool to easily update a whole bunch of content in one go.
