michalkaluza 2
Hi, When converting videos, it sometimes happens that after the conversion in the library appears a duplicate video. This does not always happen on what depends on whether the film is a separate item in the library and sometimes is as an option to choose from the source film? Luke 36884
Hi, yes this is currently one loose end with the convert feature. In order to group versions they both have to follow our multi-version naming guidelines: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming The converted version will, but your original may or may not. If it doesn't, then that's what cause this and will require renaming. This is on our to do list to review and make easier. Thanks.
michalkaluza 2
Thank you for the answer. The link is for general rules for naming files. I have read the link earlier and it did not solve the problem. So now from what I understand we have to wait for an update so it can work properly? By the way I wanted to ask if there is possibility to add the option that allows to edit the profile name before making the convertion, so that I can make the output name as I want? Right now, there are 3 options available for the conversion: Mobile, TV and Custom, wich all of them are previously defined by the Emby system. michalkaluza 2
I read this link so I understand that we have a closed group when it comes to files with the names of the videos. If I understand it correctly, after the conversion I have to rename the file name accordingly to the name list in the guidelines: /300 (2006) /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 1080p.mkv /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 1080p-trailer.mp4 /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 4K.mkv /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 720p.mp4 /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - extended edition.mp4 /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - directors cut.mp4 /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 3D.hsbs.mp4 Does any other naming scheme causes the problem with 2 duplicated films in the library? Happy2Play 8140
Pretty sure there are other topics on this as original item does not get renamed to accommodate the versioning requirements. Currently your options are manually renaming, manually grouping or the automatic grouping plugin.

If using the dash method anything following the dash will be what you see in the Emby client app. Note: The above example includes a 3D version, which is discussed in the 3D Video naming guide. Also, this feature is primarily designed for multiple qualities of the same item. It can be used for different "cuts" but there may be some limitations in doing that. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming
