djones 1
First, many thanks to the developers for continuing to improve this new official Roku App. I'm running the latest beta. When viewing photos using the slideshow option, is there a way to turn off the dark file-title rectangle that momentarily appears at the bottom of the screen for a short while on every picture change? Would like it to just go to the next picture cleanly with no extra data shown. A big plus way down the road would be to be playing a music playlist along with the slide show, but don't know if that is possible with the Roku. Thanks! djones 1
Bump. Just wanted to ask again if there could be a setting to turn off the "info" box during picture changes on the slideshow. Would make for a much smoother viewing experience for the upcoming holiday parties, etc. Many Thanks, Don
Luke 37091
There currently is no setting to do that. It would make a great pull request for a new contributor if someone wants to step up and take it.
scoobynaps 0
Has this request ever been addressed? I am also looking for a cleaner experience when using a Roku slideshow with EMBY. The info box that pops up is really useless. Just disable it altogether. If a user wants it, they should have to enable it. I can't imagine that most people would want that info by default. speechles 1920
@@scoobynaps https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Roku/pull/112 Here is a fix to let a preferences setting turn this behavior on or off. The registry setting already existed in the roku client, it just wasn't controllable for some reason. Now it is. I will include this into my emby blue neon night client, as well as update it to match the 2.14 changes luke has made. @@Luke it was almost like you left breadcrumbs in spots in the code so that people would contribute these types of fixes so easily. This was almost too easy.

speechles 1920
@@scoobynaps you have have to use the zip version from github, apply the changes I made, and sideload to your roku. That is until @@Luke adds this to the official client. ..or.. The easiest way to get it inlcuded is to use the private channel I made for emby blue neon night theme @ https://my.roku.com/account/add?channel=embyblueneon More information @ http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/24151-theme-blue-neon-night/ Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Edited September 25, 2015 by speechles
Luke 37091
speechles - what is the overlay pull request? this is the title of the photo, right?
speechles 1920
@@Luke Yes, there is also duration which should also be an option, let me redo the pull request to get them both in. Closed 112, created 113. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Roku/pull/113 This should allow more control over the slideshow.
