If I view them in emby (web) they are listet as chapter 1, 2, 3....... in movies they are named correctly, but here with the german translation Kapitel 1, 2, 3..... rbjtech 4248
Emby reads the chapter names from the source file the same as movies. Have you tried a metadata fresh on those items ? Does mediaInfo show the chapters ok ?
paddy75 14
now is working. i opened the mkv and saved the chapters again. after the refresh everything is fine. you know how the previews are build for the chapters? have a lot of old movies/series. a lot of them are in 4:3, but the aspect ratio is set to 16:9 and they are also played in roku/web in 16:9. Only the chapter previews have different aspect ratios
rbjtech 4248
Chapter should maintain the aspect ratio - Mine do (I just tested a few old 4:3 movies chapters, thumbnails look fine) Can you show some examples ? Refreshing the metadata on items should regenerate the BIF file.
paddy75 14
here is an example mkv headers are set 16:9 i set to use chaptermarkers in the settings and no intervall, no bif is generated then.

We only generate a bif with intervals, not chapter markers.

Sure, but the OP is saying the aspect ratio on the chapter images is incorrect - it should be 16:9 on 16:9 content - not 4:3 as it shown above. I can't easily test as I use intervals to create the BIF - that method appears to respect the aspect ratio without issues. Does the chapter only process use a different image generator syntax to the bif creator process ?
Luke 37045
Isn't 4:3 closer to the source resolution?
