Not playing some video files

Hi

I've been having a problem with Emby playing certain files. They either just hang, or come up with 'no compatible streams available'. This is happening when I'm using Emby Web 4.7.5.0 on my local network, but also when others have tried remote connecting from other apps. Attached are, hopefully, the relevant logs for when this has happened with one example video file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

Edit: This has been happening since Emby Server 4.7.5.0 and since I moved my media from multiple network storage devices to one USB drive directly attached to the Emby server.

You are getting

TranscodeReasons=AudioCodecNotSupported

Also, dithose files contain embedded vtt subtitles?

Is there a fix for AudioCodecNotSupported?

And, nope, no subtitles for that video file as far as I can see.

Are all the problematic files EAC3?

What client are you using?

No, another one I know that isn't working is AC3 rather than EAC3.

They all work on my Xbox One, but don't work on Chrome (Emby Web 4.7.5.0) and one of my friends connects using an LG TV app and these files aren't playing for her either.

Hi.  So it would seem anything requiring ffmpeg is failing.

	System.Exception: System.Exception: Error starting ffmpeg

How did you install the server?

Your original media has 10 subtitles.  That does not help.  I am not sure why you cannot see them in the original.  Playing the original video with VLC should show the subtitles from the top menu.  I have read that this often causes issues.  I personally do not use the built in encoder.  I do all my encoding in advanced to the quality I prefer and then upload the result to the library and this method means no encoding is required.  Of course that does not help if you are using live TV.

Hope that helps.

@AlexS HI, have you tried updating to Emby Server 4.7.6, in case that might help? Thanks.

@AlexS are you still running into this?

I've switched to the other machine now and running the beta on it without any problems.

However, yesterday I tried on the setup that wasn't working and it was still having the same problems as before.

Ok please try the next beta build once available and let us know how that compares. Thanks.
