Hi Guys,

Long time Plex user here, due to the lag issues in the last few updates I've decided to try Emby. Everything seems fine when using the local or public IPs but when using Emby connect is when it won't connect to the server.

All devices work when using the public/local:port but when using the Emby connect method it says The server NAME cannot be reached. It may no longer be available. Would you like to try to wake or remove it? I also see that when connecting via app.emby.media on a webbrowser it's giving me Connection Failure there as well but when I browse directly using either public or local ip + port it works just fine.

Testing on my android data(from the outside) it works with the manual IP:port but again not with Emby connect. The server is shown but when you hit it it gives that connection failure message.

I have a VPN app on there but I've disabled it now for troubleshooting, it's actually only set for split tunnel and shouldn't be touching any apps other then what I specify anyways. I've tried changing the ports used from 8096 to 8090, same results where using IP works but Emby connect does not. On the dashboard the LAN access and WAN access links are correct. Version is  4.7.4.0. I see there is a logs section, if any of those will help please let me know I can upload those. To note as well I'm not using SSL just http. Tried rebooting my network devices, and server to no avail.

edit: added logs

Hi, does your Emby Server dashboard display the correct local and remote addresses? Those are the addresses that Emby Connect will be trying to use.

Thanks for your quick response! Yes it the links are correct, they work inside the network and out and successfully updated when I changed the port.

@TroyErvin when you use app.emby.media, are you using the https version of the web app at

https://app.emby.media

or the http version at:

? Since you haven't setup SSL on your Emby Server, you can only use the plain http version, not https. Please let us know if this resolves your issue. Thanks !
