Bonjour,

Depuis plusieurs mises à jours l'application Emby transcode absolument tous mes fichiers vidéos. Ce que je n'ai pas l'impression qu'elle faisait avant. Je m'en suis aperçu en raison d'une baisse importante de la résolution et de la qualité de l'image. J'utilise un serveur Synology, branché par câble RJ45 Cat 6, à une Xiaomi Box, elle-même branchée à un projecteur. J'ai testé l'application VLC directement via ma box Xiaomi et j'ai une bien meilleure image avec VLC.

Petit exemple d'un film en 1080p

Emby transcode en 586p

VLC en 800p

Est-il possible que Emby sache lire de moins en moins de formats vidéo et qu'il soit donc obligé de tout transcoder ?

En tout cas j'aimerais une explication, et mieux, une solution, s'il y a.

Hey up, 

Do provide one of ffmpeg logs so reason for transcoding could be seen. 

Wild guess: you have a bandwidth limiter somewhere, either on server side or in client app.

Nope, that's MediaInfo section, one (or few) ffmpeg-transcode logs would be preferred, you can either download them from Settings>Logs tab or pick them up directly from logs folder, your Dashboard would tell you the path.

Celui-ci par exemple, j'ai une image, mais pas de son. Par contre, je ne suis actuellement pas chez moi, donc c'est via internet que je regarde le film.

In your client app, change Quality from Auto to some numerical value, higher up, i.e. 20-30-50 Mbps... (in above MediaInfo example, more than 12 Mbps, in this transcode example, more than 5 Mbps, as your current limit is set on 3 Mbps, which might be hard-coded fallback OR set by yourself in server Network and/or User settings:) 

Global Remote Bitrate Limit: 3,000,000 bps

Chez moi il est déjà au maximum. Je connais ce réglage. C'est la première chose que j'ai essayé.

Ici, pour ce fichier, je n'ai pas du tout de son.

And again, from the second log:

TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit
Global Remote Bitrate Limit: 3,000,000 bps

Check:

Pour chez moi, qu'est ce qui peut poser soucis ? Je devrais être en "direct play", comme il est branché directement sur le serveur. Non ?

I don't quite understand your question, you just said you're not at home, i.e. accesing remotely?

I am currently not at home, so it is via the internet that I watch the film.

For me, what can be a problem? I should be in "direct play", as it is plugged directly into the server. No?

Would need to see a server log but the ffmpeg log would appear this is not a local connection as WAN address is being used.  Or we need another example of the issue you are having on a local connection.

Oui, en effet, je regarde actuellement d'ailleurs que chez moi. Je ferais le test une fois chez moi.

J'ai contrôlé et cela semble ok. Cela plafonne au maximum. Je test d'autres films prochainement.

Petite question hors Emby.

Ma Xiaomi Box a un signal internet bloqué à 40-50Mbps. Savez-vous éventuellement pourquoi ? Elle est branchée en RJ45.
