Bigmack3000 84
I briefly mentioned this in a feature request, but it seems more like a glitch. Can a block be added so that multiple trailers of the same movie don't play before a movie? GrimReaper 3226
You'll need to be more specific, playing through what? Cinema Intros? Vantage Point? How does your setup look like?
Happy2Play 8145
Yes method is needed. But clicking the Trailer button will play all urls received from TMDB.
Bigmack3000 84
Sorry, yes the Cinema Intros plugin. I don't use online trailers only local ones.

Bigmack3000 84
6 minutes ago, Luke said: Can you please go over an example? Thanks. I'm attaching logs here. There's two main issues. I don't know how, but a film seems to attach itself to certain trailers, and then every time that movie is played the same trailers play with it. The second is that often two trailers from the same film will play. You'll see in the logs, this is how I knew to immediately play "Mamma Mia", and show that two trailers from "scott pilgrim" would play before it. Something is a bit off with the randomizer. Attaching another instance of this happening. Played "Out of the Blue" and two trailers for "Out of the Blue" played before the movie. A block against a trailer for the same film playing before that film would be so nice. embyserver (1).txt

The one to look for is from yesterday. When playing "Dune", two trailers for the same film, "Superman Returns", played back to back. embyserver (1).txt embyserver-63844761600.txt

The log has over 300 mentions of dune and 170 mentions of superman. This is due to the library scanning. Or can you restart the server and reproduce the problem again? Thanks. Bigmack3000 84
51 minutes ago, Luke said: Can you reproduce this with a brand new movie? Ok, found it again. Logs attached. Played Avatar 2. Two trailers for the Abyss played. Stopped. played Avatar 2 again. Two trailers for the Abyss played again. Overall, trailers just do not appear to be remotely randomized enough. And, there looks to be far too many restrictions on what trailers will player before a film. If you watch a Spiderman film, two Spiderman film trailers will play. If you watch an X-Men film, two X-Men trailers will play, etc. Even with other genres, it tries to match too many similarities with the film you are currently watching. The randomizer needs room to breathe. It would be fine if a trailer for The Godfather came up before watching a documentary. embyserver (1).txt
Bigmack3000 84
I feel like after the first trailer plays it should go something like: 1. Do Not play trailer from same film. 2. Find trailer from same genre. if not found, 3. Find trailer from same decade. if not found, 4. Find trailer with same rating. (PG, R, etc) if not found, 5. Find trailer not rated higher than current film. (ex. if film is rated PG-13. find a trailer rated PG or PG-13, not R) if still not found, 6. skip additional trailers. That way if emby always wants there to be a running theme with trailers, the option is there. But, if a theme can't be found, the pool for other trailers keeps widening. That's part of the fun of trailers. To find something you weren't expecting to watch. Edited March 11 by Bigmack3000
