Icepick 1 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Hello First I would like to say I really like Media Browser. One problem I am having is when I start play a new movie the progress bar comes up and it's already at 100%. As you can see in the below screenshot, the progress bar is at 100%, but the movie has only just started. I can still skip forward and backward without any problem. The problem is that because it is stuck at 100%, media browser things I have already watch the whole movie, so I can't resume it if I want to watch the rest later. This only happens on a few movies. I don't think I have ever had it happen on a TV show. I think it's how the moive is encoded but I can't find out what it trigger is. Any help would really be appreciated.
Spaceboy 2561 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 It's transcoding for some reason. You need to provide more info on the file, try mediainfo
ebr 15365 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Try refreshing those movies with the metadata manager. We do not know how long they are and, therefore, cannot track progress.

Thanks mate that did it. I didn't know about that option. Looks like you do learn something new every day lol. By the way where in the meta data is the leangth of the file kept? I can't see it anywhere in the xml file which is in the same directory as the movie? Also on another note I notice the server is installed at %appdata%\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server. I run a SSD as my system drive. So of course I don't really like these files (which are up in the 4GB mark) on the SSD. Would I run into any trouble creating a symbolic link and storing the MediaBrowser-Server on another HDD? I notice the installer doesn't give the user a option at what location to install the MediaBrowser Server at. Thanks again for your help I really to appreciate it
ebr 15365 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 The duration of the item is obtained from probing the video itself. You can change the paths of many of the system components such as the cache folder and IBN which should be what is eating up most of that space. Server->Settings->Advanced and Library->Advanced and Advanced->Transcoding (for the temporary transcode file path)
