Forced to transcode 4k content on android app

Hi!

I'm having problems playing 4k content and app info says it's transcoding. My server is not powerful enought to transcode so everything has to be played direct.

Codecs are H264(mp4) and AAC. I'm using the beta program app.

Video plays fine if I'm using app.emby.media via browser.

Do you have any idea what could be the reason for the video transcoding?

Could you post ffmpeg log? Might be bandwidth-related if set on Auto. Or incompatible subs. Anyway, logs would show.

Hi!

You can find the log as an attachment. It shouldn't be beacuse of the network speed as I'm using quite fast 5Ghz wifi at the moment and the file plays fine with the web app.  No subs with this video file.

I have tried it with and without setting it to auto. I'm still in test phase of my possible migration from plex to emby.

TranscodeReasons=VideoLevelNotSupported

Which device you're trying to play that on?

"Level":52

Not really sure whether that device would support 5.2, as that's quite high, I know even Shield did not two-three years ago.

I don't know what level:52 means. So it's because my phone is too old and/or the file is too new? I'll be changing to s21 in a week so maybe it will work with that phone.

Hi, yes that is correct. Your current phone does not support it

Thanks for the help. I'll try again when I get the new phone.
