subzero88 1 Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 Hi, this may be specific, but its free based on the conditions vodafone mentioned on their website. Vodafone Germany offers a service, where you can add a video or music app that the traffic usage is free for customer from Vodafone. https://www.vodafone.de/privat/service/vodafone-pass.html https://www.vodafone.de/privat/service/vodafone-pass-partnerportal.html You could register the emby apps that the usage of this is free for Vodafone Pass users. It would be a very nice feature Regards
Luke 38839 Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 Hi, we can try, but I doubt this will work out because you are not streaming from us, you are streaming from your own personal server.
subzero88 1 Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 Hi, thanks for your answer in this. As far as I understood they measure the traffic from the app itself, that’s also the reason why using a hotspot for a laptop for example doesn’t count for the Netflix traffic. So anyhow, I would give it a try. Would be a great benefit for Vodafone customers
adminExitium 258 Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 It doesn't work that way. They need to know the server addresses to zero rate the traffic, unless they are snooping on the app on the devices which would be a pretty big invasion of privacy. With Netflix it's straightforward since Netflix publishes it's server addresses to the public, but for Emby, they cannot give a specific set of server addresses since the app connects directly to your server without going through any intermediary that can be published.

I wouldn't bother too much as this behavior of the ISP zero rating traffic is against the low, at least over here in Europe and they will disappear from the market - better soon than later imo.
