About themoviedb actor information question
I would like to ask why there are 7 actors information on themoviedb official website, but there are only three actors information when EMBY searches themoviedb metadata? Why can't the metadata of other actors be read?
Picture 1 is the complete actor information on themoviedb official website.
Picture 2 is that EMBY searched themoviedb to read only three actors' information which is very imperfect.

What is your metadata downloader order on the library?

Do you write nfo files?   If so could the additional people been added after you got the media?

What is the tmdb link for this media so I can test myself?

Okay they are showing a consolidated list of actors in that view but those are not the Series actors, only the three that appear in all episodes.  So this is just the way TMDB does it and we may see more issues like this.  @Luke

I will test this to see exactly what the api returns though.

Yea looks like they're merging the series and all the episode actors into one view. I can see how that would cause confusion.

GrimReaper

They've been doing that for a long time, with no way to distinguish between regulars and guests (besides being hinted only by number of episodes below the image) except editing the item and cheking the cast.

I've solved that by making a 3-rd party app FR (amongst others to increase Emby compatibility):

Quote

3. Could we get and option (checkbox?) to display (and subsequently be written in NFO) FULL Series cast on TV Show level, including both main series cast and episode cast concatenated? Atm, they are shown separately under TV Show/Episode level and written into respective NFOs, although they are scraped and ALL images placed under same .actors subfolder under main series folder - is it possible to show them like that, as well?

Quote

3. no great idea either. Just imagine that you write that all into the NFO and rebuild your tmm lib from the NFO again -> ALL actors will be imported on TV show level

Quote

3. That WAS the idea, actually, to have ALL cast shown on TV Show level - if opted so (hence checkbox); For some movies there's like 120+ cast, I wouldn't mind having 20-30-50 for TV Shows, as well, it would make it MUCH easier to track missing actor image/bio if having them all in one place rather than chasing them through each and every episode for every TV Show (or having them all displayed on TV Show level in Emby concatenated upon entering Series view).

Quote

Release 4.1.3

+ Emby compatibility enhancements
- (TV shows) proper trailer naming for Emby
- (TV shows) added tmdbid to the NFO
- (TV shows) added option to write <enddate> to the TV show NFO
- (TV shows) added option to write all actors/guests into the TV show NFO
