Update auf Synology DSM7 - Was ist zu beachten?

Hey, hat hier zufällig schon jemand sein Synology auf DSM7 hochgezogen und würde hier mal auf deutsch eine kleine Schritt-für-Schritt anleitung schreiben, was ich beachten muss damit Emby danach auch wieder läuft?

Bin der englischen Sprache nicht so mächtig und hab Angst dass ich mir da was zerschieße. Bin aktuell auf der neusten Emby Version 4.6.4.0 und mein Synology läuft auf der Version DSM 6.2.4-25556

Ich weiß das gehört hier nicht hin, aber gibt es sonst noch was zu beachten, unabhängig von Emby, damit nach dem Update alles so läuft wie vorher (Rechte, Freigaben, ....)?

What? All my films are in there. I don't have that much storage space to copy. What can i do there?

exclude the video files...this should help.

or just move (mv) all the files if you really don't want to separate video files from the "database" stuff.

Wäre der Befehl dann einfach "mv -rv /volume1/Emby/* /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServ"

bzw wofür steht "-rv"? Nur zum Verständnis. Und wieso muss das über SSH passieren, warum kann man es nicht einfach über das Webinterface kopieren/verschieben? Will es nur verstehen

Hab ein bisschen Schiss vor dem Update, das meine ganzen "gesehen/ungesehen"-Markierungen weg sind und die "hinzugefügt am"-Markierungen. Quasi das meine ganze sortierung durcheinander sein könnte.

-rv ....bedeutet:
r = steht für rekursiv und bedeutet einfach, dass alle Unterverzeichnisse des Ordners mitgenommen werden
v = steht für verbose und zeigt alles an was der Befehl gerade macht.

ja, es müsste auch mit mv funktionieren. Einzig bei der Option -r bin ich mir jetzt nicht sicher. Du kannst es einfach mit einem selbst erstellten Testordner kurz ausprobieren. Über die Shell kannst du natürlich auch die Hilfeseiten des Befehls aufrufen und nochmals die Syntax prüfen und ob es -r auch für mv gibt.

Über die Shell deshalb, da man die Ordner im normalen Webinterface gar nicht sieht wenn ich nicht irre. Über putty kommt man schnell auf die Shell der Synology. Es war wirklich easy.

Generell ist es eher suboptimal wenn die Videodateien im selben Ordner liegen wie die ganzen Datenbanksachen (per Default ist das eigentlich nicht so eingestellt). Da muss man bei solchen Anleitungen immer aufpassen. Wenn Du jetzt die Videodateien auch mit verschiebst, wird die Datenbank die Videodateien nicht mehr finden, da der Ort der Videodatei sich geändert hat. In der Datenbank selbst zeigt der Eintrag aber nach wie vor auf den alten Platz.

Danke, das heißt wenn ich jetzt alles kopiere ausser die Filmordner im alten emby Ordner, würde die Verlinkung doch weiterhin passen und ich hab sie gleichzeitig dann nicht mehr im selben aktuellen emby Ordner, weil sie ja noch im alten sind. Oder müsste ich dann noch was anpassen? 

Oder kann ich vor dem Update die Ordner verschieben und in der Konfiguration anpassen? Mit ist wichtig das alle flags gesetzt bleiben. Also gesehen/nicht gesehen usw.

Ich hab jetzt mal eine kleinere Bilbiothek tesweise in einen anderen Ordner ausserhalb des Emby-Ordners kopiert und bei Emby den Pfad der Bibliothek geändert.

Problem: Nach dem einlesen ist zwar alles wieder da, aber alle gesehenen Filme werden nicht mehr als gesehen markiert.

Ändere ich den Pfad wieder zurück auf den alten Pfad der Bibliothek sind die Filme wieder als gesehen markiert.

 

Jetzt ist die Frage wo die Daten dafür gespeichert werden? Da müsste man ja dann auch den Pfad auf den neuen Pfad ändern.

How many directories do you have in /volume1/Emby that contain media?

You might be better off moving these folders to a different volume (should be fast), then doing the migration.

After migrating the data you can move the directories back to /volume1/Emby where they started from.

This way you get the migration and Emby running on DSM 7 will still know where to find the media since it's in the same place.

Ah, ok, you mean:

1. Temporarily move the library folder from the current Emby folder to another location.

2. Follow the instructions "DSM 6 to DSM 7 Emby Migration Instructions".

3. Move the library folder from the temporary folder back into the old Emby folder, where only the media files are then.

Right?

Still, I would like to know where the seen / not seen flag information is stored.

Yes, but I would do a copy vs move for the Emby config files.  This will allow you to try a few times if something doesn't work.

But you have the idea now.

If the migration goes correct your system will be in the same state it was on DSM 6 including all watched status.

Even if I have temporarily moved the media folder, I can first use the file manager (without SSH) to copy the Emby folder with the configuration files to a backup folder. Or?

I suppose you could but what do you gain by doing that?

Personally I would not touch the Emby config on /volume1/Emby until you have a migration that works.  Any changes beyond moving the media out is one step removed from what you had including the permissions that are currently set on the files.

The migration instructions only copy the files so it leaves the existing files/folders intact which can allow trying over and over again if needed.
