i randomly cannot remote login with emby connect .after sign in with emby connect ,most of the time it stuck with select sever page.(after login its show 2 same name server with internal ip address and sometimes show WAN ip but both of them said unable to reach sever ) and manual add ip also not work. for internal login sometime its show in activity log that its attempt to authenticated on server so many time and it show a long list of login attempt every second until it can login P.S. Android tv app still can remote login with no problem

We are not going to arbitrarily choose to end support for the FreeBSD package, so you have nothing to worry about from us. We will continue to produce it for as long as we can and will only stop when something forces us to. For example, I suspect that support from external tools that we depend on will start to drop off, then sooner or later something will break, and that's when it might be the end of it. But hopefully that doesn't happen anytime soon.

Most likely you changed the file, but didn't run a library scan to help make Emby Server aware of the change. So I would either do that or manually refresh metadata on that one video.

Hi, emulators are external applications. They can be anything you want. They are installed on the same machine as Emby Theater, and you configure them in the external player section of the app. I understand you want to know which emulator version, but that's a question of what's best for your environment, for your game files, etc.

That's why I use Maven's Kodi version (Nexus). There is no direct automatic update for the whole build. This is only possible via sideload. So I have sole control over what gets updated and what doesn't. I now always set up Kodi on the PC, and then just copy the "addons" and "userdata" directories over to my shield (previously deleted those directories there), where Kodi only has the basic settings. Then check the file paths again, update the library via the Emby addon, which speeds up the whole process immensely. Especially since I have three shields in my household. But you could test it on a normal Windows computer. If you play a UHD movie with HD sound, the Android app pukes and you no longer have smooth playback. And if you have a movie like "Gemini Man" with a frame rate of 59.94, bit rate 88 MB/s, and a soundtrack with TrueHD Atmos with a bit rate of over 4000 kb/s, the Android app can no longer cope. Kodi also reaches its limits, but you can still watch it without any playback problems. If you only play HD formats up to 1080p, the Android app is sufficient. If you have a server with thick hardware that also eats up a lot of power, you could of course also be happy with the Android app. But I personally have other things to finance apart from the hardware. Essential things like food, drink, clothes, car and so on.

Luke, what is the Emby team's stance on FreeBSD? Does this change anything, or will you still provide a build for FreeBSD after they no longer provide updates for jails through TrueNAS? I'm thinking at some point, though not anytime soon, the old jail we would be running will cause a problem with a future version of Emby. I'm considering using their upgrade tool that does an in place upgrade from FreeBSD to Debian. Did it on a VM in a lab, and it was pretty impressive how easy it was.

So I used to just convert them to TV since that worked format wise, now it seems if I run them through MKVtoolnix to repackage the audio video subtitles they work, so even more confused on what the issue could be here since that doesnt re encode anything.

Sure. Of course I may have cured it with switching to wired but, if it happens again, I will send a server log. I really do not think this was a server problem and it cannot be the Roku (unless it is both) it cannot be the Emby Roku app so it is probably something in/on my network. The wired setup is where i have my hopes now. We'll see.

That log is unfortunately not the most useful since it's only the hardware detection. That stream is only transcoding the audio which is a very lightweight operation so this shouldn't be transcoding related. I'm not familiar with Roku if there's any settings related to playback, if it advertises support for HEVC it should be able to handle a 2 Mbps stream...

I've never used the Windows emby app, as I don't have a Windows machine connected to my TVs, so I can't compare. I've used Kodi since it was XBMC on my modded OG xbox, and I've noticed zero additional issues since switching to the emby android app full time about 2 months ago. YMMV I guess though.

Hi, what they need to do is attach a playSessionId to all stream urls and then attach the same value to all start, progress and stop reports. Since i assume they are not using our /playbackInfo api, they can just generate a random value such as a guid.

I just renamed all references to embyclient-python to embyclient_python and rebuilt - all seems to work fine. Cant see any reason embyclient would not work directly as well - not sure if using that name would conflict with pypi of the same name https://pypi.org/project/embyclient/ Ultimately it would be good if the emby teams own version was built and deployed to pypi in this manor (someone has setup an automated build and deploy job to do so from your current repo: https://github.com/nwithan8/embyclient_python/actions)
