Warning: Hardware-accelerated subtitle-overlay is disabled
Happy2Play replied to frankmb's topic in Roku
Currently the only option is to install the Diagnostics plugin and uncheck that option but is a temporary workaround and will reset with every server restart. -

Using the Emby Roku app I could not play an episode needing subtitle burn-in. My hardware transcoding was not used and the software transcoding was too slow and worked very badly I think. I think in the past the hardware transcoding would have been used and this woudl have worked. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-4fe55f87-9e07-4db7-986f-76585be2193a_1.txt

I like and use Dynu.com for free DDNS. They have API support and don't have periodic login requirements or query limits like other free DDNS providers. They also have reasonably priced domain registration for your own domains. - Today

While i do not like that "show missing episodes" has been removed and the context menu augmented to replace its functionality I have found that the new method does have advantages if you, for any reason, lost some files and need to find and restore them. So, Emby, if you add the old functionality back please keep the context menu functions as well. I think neither function does everything that needs to be done but both, together, does cover most "missing episodes" functionality.

Jellyfin has just released full hardware acceleration support for Apple Silicon. We've been waiting for over a year for the promised hardware acceleration support in version 4.8. Even after the update, we still haven’t received any answers about it. Any response would suffice, but the silence is deafening. I’ll switch to Jellyfin and won’t renew my Emby license when it expires. Sadly, it has come to this

I would recommend to all users that have real problems with their Rokus, I do not but others might, to add a Fire Stick to their setup. The Stick can be configured so that the Roku app is first and foremost and it is almost as easy to use as the Roku. I very much prefer my Rokus but the Fire ain't bad. It is not a perfect solution but it does work and, on the rare occasions that my Rokus do not work correctly, I find switching to my Fire stick almost seamless. Any other reliable Android device would probably work well too. But there are a LOT of real crappy Android devices and going outside the mainstream is dangerous.

I am 100% agree with you all. This is a bad idea nd and big mistake to remove in the récent release the missing épisodes option. Why not ask to the users before remove features. I cant understand that

Yes they may need their own images size option as the global option does apply but does not help if you like larger images. Only help in web client but I remove scroll. div.catalogMain div.scrollSlider {flex-wrap: wrap;}

I have run into an intermittent problem where drives become inaccessible at times. No matter weather it is one drive or five or more a simple reboot solves the issue. It seems to happen about once every two to four weeks and is always easily cleared up easily. A simple unplug/plug cycle fixes any drive (they are all USB) but said drive becomes inaccessible within a max of 30 minutes. But a reboot assures at least two weeks operation so I choose the reboot. What i want to do is make a prophylactic reboot on some interval but my reading fins people recommending anywhere from bi-daily to monthly. I am leaning toward weekly simply because that is easy to remember. I can make it automatic by using Windows scheduled tasks but, before setting that up, I wanted to get a few opinions. BTW: On my server I run DrivePool and the loss of drive access means that DrivePool becomes read only but I have NEVER, yet at least, had a stream interrupted due to on of the failures. The computer passes all diagnostics and the only error that gets reported is DrivePool reporting a missing disk. The server has run steadily for as long as a month and it is protected by a UPS and all 14 drives are also so protected. I also have not had to do a full power down for months. I believe the actual problem is software related not directly hardware related. But i also believe, if periodic reboots keep the problem in check I do not need to do deep diagnostics to "find" the problem 15-20 years ago i might have decided to find the problem but, at my age, the pragmatic approach seems the best option unless this does turn out to be hardware related and gets worse. Fortunately DrivePool will send me an email if a drive goes missing so I do not often get surprised by a failure. I thought about using the emails to trigger the restarts but that seems unnecessary at this point and could come when i do not want a reboot so prophylactic rebooting in less than the failure cycle length seems to be my best approach. That is unless someone wants to give me a server/storage setup that is plenty robust and handles 70 TB of storage. I will watch for the package with eager anticipation.

Can you explain how? Maybe a link to a post or guide? The Server Configuration backup method no longer exist as the backup plugin changed. The files still exist in /config/users/userid folders but easiest method is create a new user and copy from existing user. So the question becomes what exactly are you trying to do as it is still limited to specific things and does not apply to display settings as those sort of are device specific?

Yes, the layout is similar to a media library. I don't know what the "TV suggestions" tab is. How are these relevant to the plugins catalog in settings? Okay, I'll infer your real question. The problem is the plugins catalog is not a media library where I would browse for media (mostly of which I am already aware of). It is a different context for a different purpose than a media library. I think a properly implemented search or filter function would probably make my gripe subside

What are my options? This is only with rokus. The remote users who use rokus same issue, one has a LG TV, no issue. I've used a onn 4k box, no issues. What are my options? Fresh install?
-
I'm afraid I don't have anything new for you at this time. It seems your issue has to either be server/database performance or network performance since others with even larger libraries are not seeing the same poor performance.

When I try to play this file and other similar ones the app just force closes nvidia shield, iPhone , chrome tried all seems that Emby doesn’t like encoding on some files that I download through Sonarr and Radarr. They are mkv files. It’s like it had trouble reading them. If I had some automated way to multi Plex the files I would

I use amazon route 53, you can update any DNS record with their API. There is also a Certbot script specific to route 53 domain to update a certificate. Been working without any issue for many years. -
Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

@Q-Droid may have some tips. -
Aside from not being able to search, isn’t the layout basically the same as browsing your media library? Doesn’t it pretty much match let’s say the live TV suggestions tab?
-
Can you try unchecking the boxes to restrict transcoding permission? Please see how that compares. Thanks.

We do already have it in the client as a manual rotation based on the metadata, so if the server has been updated and the metadata refreshed then it should be working. If I get a sample, I'll see if we can improve this using the native methods on newer models to avoid a dependency on the metadata. @Robnaeyaert If you check the video stream info on the server after the refresh, does it now show a rotation parameter like my example here?
