My emby app on iOS randomly logs out, which is annoying but made more annoying by the fact that i need to enter the entire server path again. Can previous server history be kept so we can just click to auto complete instead of typing out every time?

Welcome to the club. Many of us an quite unhappy with this sudden design change. At best, we've just gotten a vague "more options to control this are possible for future updates" response. The Android TV client did it right: while it defaults to this new view, it also has an "All Items" button to enable to old view.

A suggestion for the restore process, currently we need to enter our premiere key before restore works. Would be nice if it could detect the backup was from a premiere system and allow restore.

It shouldn't! Collections are supposed to be content agnostic, and there is no design reason for them to be horizontal scrolling for any platform.

Oh that is because kubernets are confusing Emby. It's real local ip address is 10.0.0.102, but part of TrueNAS thinks it isn't, but it used to work anyways. I can connect to 10.0.0.102:9096 no problem.

Personally hope this is never added.

Confusing Emby as you have a folder mismatched to multiple items so who does the extras belong to? Dev would have to give a technical answer. And yes you will run into the same issue with that naming above at least when it comes to Multi-versioning but not from a single item standpoint.

Yeah that fixed it. I don't mind fixing the auto stuff to be the way I want it to be, but I don't understand why the extras folder just didn't show up at all. This may be a minor problem in the future since I prefer to have the folder name have things like "the" at the end so that my folder structure makes sense for sorting, but I like having the video file itself be the actual title. Something like: \Three Amigos, The\The Three Amigos.mkv That would be a problem if there were multiple versions of that movie. Again, I don't mind fixing the auto-identify and auto-grouping part of it manually, but I don't understand why the extras just won't show up at all when this happens.

I modified the file with ffmped like that : ffmmpeg ffmpeg -i '09 - I've Done It Again.flac' \ -metadata major_brand="" \ -metadata minor_version="" \ -metadata compatible_brands="" \ '09 - I've Done It Again.1.flac' Now, on my TV set, Emby plays the audio fiile. I wiil make a script to update the others FLAC files. Thanks a lot !

Naming scheme as Emby does not know what version to apply them to correctly and you are presenting Emby with two independent items. If you want Emby to automatically merge them you need to follow the only rule. As you have a folder/filename mismatch. You also have the auto grouping plugin but believe you will have the same issue with extras in a multiversion environment.

hi sorry but I'm not so experienced. I managed to flash coreelec with kodi on a ugoos amb6plus to have best dv quality, but I'm of course not getting warm with kodi. I want my emby. how do I have to understand that factory reset? you don't mean back to the android I guess. but getting back to the coreelec on my SD card would mean the emby add on is also gone...? thanks!!

I can confirm that Folders added to Collections are not displaying. This is not fixed in 4.8.6 but will be resolved in 4.8.7. Thanks.

Mixing Shows and Movies does not create scroller but adding Seasons does. So I guess it comes down to specifics as it is dependent on what you are putting in a Collection. Movies and Shows no scroller anything else cause scrollers. But yes previously I could make this happen on Movies but not now.

I see. We don't watch a lot of 4k media or have it transcoding as most get's direct played. Haven't taken down the old server so that emby is still going but wanted this all sorted out before forcing the switch for everyone.

Actually...that's not the same as the FireTV, because that's showing the Theatrical 4K and Final 1080p. The FireTV shows only the Final 4K and Final 1080p. Bizarre.

Looks like each attempt to run the ffmpeg failed after 10 seconds but there's no indication in the server log for why, there might be more information in each of the ffmpeg logs since every attempt will create a new log.

Since it is global one may want to restrict to specific libraries. Guess I missed this one new feature on Home Screen settings. But yes needs added to this setting.

Is there a 4.8.6 for Windows?

Shows and movies don't split into side scrolling, only shows and seasons, or Movies and episodes. This is a poor UI/UX design
