Agreed, it appears to be related to tags used to block certain titles. More specifically the routines determining which versions to block when media that has more than 2 versions. Also, perhaps a gap in evaluating the active status of a given tag.

I note since recently that on the Person Page, the media that the peron is also in has now been combined. Is there a way to have it as seperate Movies and Shows again. It is very unstructured now, and hard to get a grip on viewing a persons other material. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have a linux server and could find nowhere else to post

off subtitle extraction corrects it but doing that transcodes a lot every time you need to see the subtitles

Once I thought it was looping, I sat and watched it about 4-5 times. I took note of the photo that it ended on before going back to the beginning photo. Counted them. Which is fairly easy since they are a grid. It was always the 150th photo.

Thanks but it wasn't a playback issue per se. I was just asking if there was a way server side to disconnect a client and/or if there was a way to limit connection time of a client.

What kind of video? Is it direct playing or transcoding? Are any ffmpeg logs produced?

Based on what is happening, it isn't too surprising to us that it might not be consistent. Glad it is working for you again but we're going to make some changes that should keep this from happening in the future. Thanks.

Did you restart the server after making that change?

The HDHomerun extend may be transcoding the stream, Check your set up on the HDhomerun Transcode Configuration Set it to none. On Emby LiveTV setup uncheck : Allow hardware transcoding (So emby will not tell your HDHomerun Extend to transcode)

Agreed. I did some googling and haven't found anything to suggest that is true. Anything remotely resembling that discussion appears to be rather old and blamed on Google. Part of the beauty of Android is its customizability. I should certainly think that removing custom launchers would be a bad idea.

That is exactly what all the apps do... Where people run into problems is when their firewall is blocking that broadcast.

Hi Luke, I was able to by sideloading as a developer and removing device restrictions in Sideloadly. But as a basic developer, it only lasted 7 days. Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I completely agree with you. But this is just a test install to check transcoding and streaming speed. therefore I’m not worried about the security at the moment. Just wanted to know why some directories are not visible under library folder setup but some are visible. The thing is all those directories are owner by root. If I create a directory n the root . Set the permission as user:group recursively, it should be picked up by emby right?

I do think this post highlights yet again the very confusing 'connect' message you get when trying to initially connect a CLIENT to emby. If it is a local client, on a local LAN then WHY does it not simply broadcast to find it - and ask for a emby LOCAL username and password ? Instead it defaults to 'emby connect' - which if you have just installed your new emby server, you would not have set up yet (or have no plan to set up) ! So you then need to click 'skip' on the client and 'manually' connect to the server using the account you created when setting up the server ... which is what it should have asked for in the first place ...

Tried using a USB-ethernet adapter to see if that would prevent this network exception but it crashed again yesterday. Trying the x86 beta build today to see if its any better. Luke, any guidance you can provide here? Not sure why it worked fine for a month but is now suddenly crashing regularly. Any correlation to OS version, or is it due to the 10G network adapter?

Hi there, Thanks for coming back to me! I've done a full restart and created a whole new embyserver log as well as transcodes and had myself as the person streaming to avoid any confusion or mishap. Attached all three files that were created in this process as well as three screenshots which should hopefully show what I mean? If I need to record or anything like that, let me know Versions: Emby Server: 4.8.5.0 Emby App: 2.2.15 (21) - I have just checked and there is a 2.2.19 (25) that is from your own website, and this still does the same thing unfortunately.
