hey both very good as far as I understand your suggestions. the reason I brought that up again and again is the missing dts x atmos info in emby standard. I know have a plug in for it you can search MediaInfo and hopefully you are better with it then I am it's not completely easy if you are running emby in a docker. I also have an overlay on poster / cases but only dv and you cannot really see it I think Icons for ratio, resolution, hrd, Sound, codec, Bitrate and if you want language and whatever more somewhere on the movie info page is long overdue. every app / solution / provider I know has that. as written, atmos and auro 3d launch now 10 years. 1. not so relevant where. bottom line overlay on fanart is perfect I guess. and surely having then duplicate info in track and video track choose drop down menu is 100% completely irrelevant imo. there will be no emby soul on earth complaining about that?!! and if you tell them to programs their own solution in my set up I don't have a device in which I can read the whole lines without clicking it I would think it's much more important that icons will change with choosing another sound / video track that would be a nice show

Hi ppl. How do I get local trailers to show up here ? When I do not want the trailer plugin installed. I have trailer in a much better quality, than the plugin supplies. If its not possible, then trailer tab should not show up.

(FWIW) Some more thoughts... For Albums (where Album Artist is a needed field for differentiation) there are 7 possible combinations to consider across the 3 Album Artist/Artist/Composer fields. For Songs (where Album Artist is not required for differentiation) there are 3 possible combinations to consider across the 2 Artist/Composer fields. For these 10 combinations, it is necessary to consider where the person/group concerned (e.g. Chuck Berry again) both has and hasn’t been included in the fields (refer to diagram below): If just considering the “Chuck Berry” example above, one of the combinations (Albums 4) doesn’t quite make sense, but if the example was changed to “Various Artists” then it may make sense? To implement something similar to this diagram would require 2 extra vertical sections (e.g. Albums Composed and Songs Composed). This may likely be too many fields for music-casual Emby users... +1 on this.. I am planning on leaving Plex for Emby but this is one of the most important changes that i will be missing with Plex.

I am just setting up the server on a new NVIDIA shield and I am searching since half an hour where to activate „collections“. This setting does not exist in the libraries settings. Please advise. Thx.

hello @Lukevery good point! (didn't think about this tbh), but here, there might be 2 solutions: 1- one of the main strenghts of Emby is customizability, so, you can let people choose, either they keep it as it is now, or, in the audio track dropdown menu it shows only the language of the track and there are the icons (to avoid redundancy for the sake of esthetics, sacrificing a bit of practicality when choosing track, i think many people would like it), or showing both, if people want to (for video, it's not a problem, just show the icons, no text) 2- the ideal solution according to me, but i don't know if it's feasable, the dropdown menu shows only the language of the selected track, and shows the icons for info, but when clicking on it to choose the track, it shows the plain text so people see the info of the track they will put, and here there is no real redundancy i think and it should look good another idea about the same subject, is it possible to make it show Atmos and DTS:X logo when the audio track title has the word Atmos or DTS:X (as most atmos tracks have it mentioned in the track name, and anyway, it would work well with the Media Toolbox plugin) thanks!

Yea I wouldn't hold my breath. It's been a feature request for like 8 years, and there's currently still no hint that they've made a start on it, so it's still probably 2 years away at least. I just wish there was a better middle ground between feature dev & bug/maintenance dev. Plex seem to lean too heavily toward feature dev (to the point of adding features nobody asked for), and Emby leans too heavily towards maintenance dev, and even when they do add a feature, it takes ages and is miniscule (profile pins, a 'collection' row that only shows the list of collections lol). It'd be great to get better transparency with their dev. A road map at least. But even better would be if they adopted development cycles similar to the likes of Blender etc, where they have a well structured release cycle: Even if Emby only did an on/off cycle between something like the above & then a cycle of pure bug fixing/maintenance, it'd still yield better feature development & user engagement than what we currently have.

I completely agree. The current implementation is such a lazy feature that does nothing to improve user experience. Emby already has the capability to create dynamic 'suggestion rows' like 'Because You Watched X' or, 'Directed By X' etc, so the infrastructure should already be there in order to create both Smart Collections (which users have been dying to get for like 4 years now), and Custom Rows.

Hi, I have the same problem. The conversion is complete. The file is visible on QNAP and works, but the android client does not download the file to the tablet. Status in the client: Ready To Transfer" for two days. Server: qnap intel 64bit v.4.8.7.0 Cleint: Android 12 - emby v.3.3.86

Nope still doing it, and I reiterate that this is new behavior over the last month while nothing has changed on the server. this has always played through and this naming convention has not changed. New example: this always now stops after last episode of season 1 and will not play first episode of season 2 on its own to specify: After this activity, it stops without notice - "Icedragonslair has finished playing Murder, She Wrote - Funeral at Fifty-Mile on SHIELD 5/25/2024, 3:41:43 AM" I have to manually restart the next episode - "Icedragonslair is playing Murder, She Wrote - Widow, Weep for Me on SHIELD 5/25/2024, 4:24:14 AM" Has something changed on the android app to prevent this, as I am exhausted trying to figure this out and it seems to be the nvidia shields that are messing this up, but the settings seem okay. If you need more info I will respond daily if necessary or sooner if needed. Thank you, Ice

Hi, I've been a bit stupid, auto-update on my 2 Shield Pro was enabled (never had problems before) and the Shield updated my Kodi v20.3 , which worked fine to V21. I use Emby for Kodi in native mode and now nothing syncs anymore, Emby does login on the Emby server. I tried a database reset but nothing works. When you select the folders to a to the library nothing is synced. Any1 else with this problem and maybe a solution? Emby server 4.8.7.0 Emby for Kodi 9.4.21

Same for me using lxc, with version 4.8.6.0 works as expected. I try the beta version and with the beta is working too

You can also try searching the app store for "Emby for Android" and download from there.

Hello Glenn, I have been using version 1.340 for a long time. It may be that Atmos is displayed, the icons are often not clearly visible because of the background, DTS-HD and TrueHD icons definitely are. As well as 4K. The only thing missing is Dolby Vision. I once integrated Disney+ into Kodi. FV+ ran perfectly with it. But unfortunately the Disney addon was not stable. I liked that I could also see the timeline. And that you could see what was currently playing based on the background image. But since it wasn't stable, I went back to the regular app. Yes, weather - I also saw that you can set that up. But just like I wrote about the time. You now have everything on your cell phone or tablet. And I can also see the current weather by looking out the window. The statistics for nerds, bitrate for image and sound are now not a "must have" only "nice to have". In any case, remaining time would be much nicer if you could choose that. I used to have a Zidoo Android Box that had its own display for the time, so you could set the remaining time. But with the Zidoo you can only adjust the frame rate with an external player, not with the internal player. And external players like VLC & Co. do not transmit time to FV+. That's why I switched from Zidoo to Nvidia Shield. It would be nice if you could set it up again in Emby itself. Even nicer if Plex could also be used. But I assume that Plex developers don't like to allow other programs to be connected, which would probably make the connection to FV+ quite difficult. What is important to me is that I can still use FV+. As you can see from my pictures, I would have to completely rebuild my board. Which I don't want, since I've invested some time (and money) there.
