Ready To Transfer

I'm downloading movies for a trip and some are "Ready To Transfer". So...why isn't it transferring if it's ready? Some movies are downloaded and done, so it is working.

Am I to do something else or?...

This is driving me crazy. I can't find a way around this. Just everything is stuck indefinitely on "Ready To Transfer"! This is so frustrating.

Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.

I suspect this is a duplicate of this issue, and many people are having the same problem:

Hey Luke, I didn't realize there was a bigger thread on the issue as the comment above mentioned. I posted my experience there. I'd be happy to provide logs if needed, I'd just prefer to not post them publicly.

Yep same problem here, it will download some files straight away but others (even when they are the only file set to download) it sits on "ready to transfer" but never does the transfer. edit: also all files are set to download in original format/size. Android phone running latest OS and version of the app with ample free storage space on the internal drive.

Same experience here. I see the files convert at the server level and change status to Ready to Transfer. Sometimes they transfer, sometimes they don't.

Please let me know which logs you need.

FYI I just cleared my app data on my son's tablet then re-set up. Seems to have worked.

I'm getting this as well. I tried original and some other settings, but it happens regardless. With some movies I'm unable to ever download, after many attempts. With others, if I delete and start again they eventually start to download.

All movies go through the same process; automatic ripping machine (mkv) and tdarr (gpu transcoding smaller).

That's said, was there ever a fix for this or a way around it?

Hi, I have the same problem. The conversion is complete. The file is visible on QNAP and works, but the android client does not download the file to the tablet. Status in the client: Ready To Transfer" for two days.

Server: qnap intel 64bit v.4.8.7.0

Cleint: Android 12 - emby v.3.3.86

Hi, have you updated to the latest version of Emby for Android? Has that helped?

I can't make any logical sense out of it.   No matter what I do, I cannot get it to go. But as you can see plenty of things before it and after it worked.

@jgauthieris the problem still only with that one video?

I never saw this tag for some reason.  I have this problem sporadically.

I have no idea what the reason or rhyme is

In this case, the bottom says "10 items" and 9 of them downloaded.  The top is the one I've tried to download again.

Just won't.

@jgauthierI wouldn't suggest double queuing it up.

@sa2000does this fall under the current issue that you've found?

I've been having real issues with this as well.  I'm using Android App on S10 Ultra with an SD Card.  It is missing so many TV shows randomly but shows them as Ready to Transfer.  What data can I give to try and help solve this.  I'm having to go back and use Plex downloads for some shows because I can't get them to sync in Emby (and I hate Plex download).  If there is a transfer stop/error for any reason then it will never recover.  These last two I just added the episodes and it is stuck.

Help!

Thanks!

The only way i found to solve this issue temporarily is to redownload the app or clear storage in the app settings on my phone, but this resets a lot of settings i have to redo but any show that was stuck will then be able to download again. Even removing and redownloading a show/movie does not fix it, only clearing storage or redownload app seems to work for some of em

I am sure it is very hard for the devs to fix an issue like that this that does not seem consistent.

I want emby to be the best app and i feel it is so close.

The issue is being looked into. I have managed to reproduce the problem. The issue arises if there is an error / exception or crash during earlier download of the item and we end up with a file in the files/Download area `/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download/` - with probably some inconsistencies in the adnroid app emby database

Thanks sa2000 (And I assume this is the same sa2000 that helped out in the Plex forums!  Helped me a few times over there many years ago!).  Hopefully you can sort it out sooner than later.  I have over 600GB on the SD, so clearing the app and starting over is a pain (and impossible when in the road).
