While I'm still messing with that issue. I have a slightly different one but isn't super important enough to warrant a new thread. So If I have my original server web interface up I can select Play On and then have a list of home and remote things I can cast to. I use this a lot to pick what I want to watch from my desktop and have it sent to play on my TV that has emby open. However, on the second newer server I see nothing even if emby on my TV is logged into the new server. It's an androidTV if that matters. I have both server port forwarded in my router the new one using the same port but +1 ex 8096 OG server 8097 new server.

It now seems to be working! ip:8920 works. all that's left to setup is adding files and automating ip address updates to the dns records.

I installed TrueNAS Scale in a VM and admittedly I didn't go all the way to setting up SSL but I couldn't find how exactly it's mapping 9096 to 8096, there was no listening entry in a netstat output and I tried looking at iptables if there was rule but I couldn't find anything. Maybe if I kept digging around I'd have found something. But I did try setting Host Network enabled and now I can see it listening on 8096 so if you don't have anything else listening on those port it may be worth enabling that and you can just use the host IP:8096 or host IP:8920 and you should be good to go.

As neither item is "Alien 4 - Resurrection" so I would see a linking issue primarily from a multi-version standpoint though as single items are not as restrictive.. -

Very true as every client has to be updated with every change. Then app stores taking months to approve update or if they even support updates for device at all (Samsung). So I guess Emby is just doing to many updates where server and client are always out of alignment unless you are manually updating clients but that is not possible across the board either do to private code. So the days of every client being up to date and alike no longer exist. -

That still seems odd to me, and maybe Luke will have to chime in as to the why, but that seems odd to me that even if it is confused as to which item the extras belong to, they don't show up under either version when they are separate. I would imagine that if it doesn't know which one they should be attached to, it should either pick one, or show up on both. And even then, when they are combined, there should be no question where the extras go. -
As an end user, it also results in some confusion. I, my friends, and family use Emby on a number of devices and Collections are now all over the place: Old Collections design: Android TV (with a button) Samsung Roku New Collections design: Android Web browser Emby Theater

Hey, new forum user here. Have used emby for a few years. This is precisely how I'd imagine "extras" or specials work. Separated by season, displayed at the end of the episode list. It's a no-brainer. All files not following the episode naming scheme gets chucked into extras. Or files in an extras folder in each season. A "Season 0" makes no sense at all. If you absolutely need to have it in one folder, Display it last. After all seasons of a show. Kinda like how you'd watch it... afterwards. And I'm sure "extra" is some kind of latin for "put at the end" edit: I literally just registered on the forum for this one issue. -
Okay, so... in Now Playing in Emby, if I have a single-file m4b, the only way I can know what chapter I'm on is to mouseover the seek bar at the location where I'm at in the book. And that is only on the seek bar on this particular screen. Also, can I just take the time to again point out how much screen real estate is wasted here by redundant cover art and descriptions. There are only six tracks shown here: I don't know how else to point out how rough this UI is. Creating feature requests to solve each individual problem with it would be a fool's errand at this point.

I enabled the video preview thumbnail feature and had kicked off the Extract Image Thumbnail scheduled task. It was running fine, but during that process, my drive accidentally dismounted with all my media. Emby of course then sped through the task. I checked the drive and only a few .bif files had been generated, so I tried to start it again. It is finishing now in 0 seconds without actually generating any files. How do I get it to recognize that none of the files were actually generated? I tried scanning my libraries, scanning the metadata folder, running the other scheduled tasks, nothing. Do I need to delete something from the database?

Understand, but for this particular issue its obvious. One dev worked with users to provide a usable design, another dev decides to ignore users. It's incredibly frustrating.

Actually, this has been an issue for years where one app does one thing and the others do not. So, everyone wants to compare Android to everything else. There is no universal dev standpoint across all platforms just similarities. So, if the time was taken to add to one then why not all? -
I am asking for some insight as I think I have the answer but would like confirmation from the experts. My Sony X90L is connected through eARC to my receiver but Emby app does not pass TrueHD 7.1, it always just plays as stereo. it DOES pass standards 5.1 but none of the lossless formats. I have read that internal apps on TV's don't usually support Lossless audio formats (such as DTS-MA and TureHD .. and the such) . But Netflix app on the TV DOES send 7.1 through when playing 4k content. So I am little confused but expect t be told that SONY doe snot pay for lossless audio decoding but somehow the internal netflix, prime .. and such do ?

Yes testing this the Swagger api_key works but the generated api via UI does not. Only change to curl command was api key generated via UI and one via Swagger session. curl -X DELETE "http://localhost:8091/emby/Items?Ids={itemid}&api_key={apikey}" -d ""

I think the answer is obvious. It's the app managed by the dev who continues to ignore users.

Yes I did also see 9096 as the port being used in the logs from a client perspective, even though it says it's listening on 8096, so it seems to be redirecting the port I just don't see it on the config. Not familiar enough with the platform to understand how to set that up, hopefully someone else that uses TrueNAS Scale can chime in.

It goes back to the initial screen asking to log on, I can use emby connect or manually connect. Generally i connect manually to ensure https access, but my previous servers aren't in the history.
