On closer inspection I see that now.. was just a bit frustrated with the side scroll, makes looking up items in collections like Marvel Universe a pain. Hope to see that toggle in the future. Thanks again!!

@quickmicMy server auto upgraded to 4.8.x.x and I thought everything was fine, so I upgarded to 10.0.23. I am now noticing some transcoding issues that I did not have before with 4.7 and downgrading back to an older copy. Is downgrading the plugin as simple as reinstalling 10.0.22 over the .23 or do I need a complete uninstall/reinstall or will 10.0.23 just continue to work? Copying of the older emby folder will take an hour or so, therefore, I will test anyway.

Let me start with an example. I have a bunch of Star Wars movies that are starting to get as complicated as Marvel. Well not really but they are diverging all over. So am creating a collection of my own that lists ALL star wars movies in chronological order. I historically use the Sort Title to get them to sort right in the collection but problem is say Rogue One. If I make that like a sort order label of Star Wars 05 as it's technically the 5th movie in order chronologically. However now it will sort under "S" in the Movies area due to that sort order flag. Adding it to a custom collection doesn't allow me to custom sort just that collection. Understand that could get complicated but thought I'd check if I'm missing anything.

I think I may have figured it out. I may have just needed to update Emby to specify what external ports it was telling the client to use. I'm doing some testing.

It is an optimization, hopefully a temporary one. Ideally we'd like to return all results in all cases, but when the search string is small it can lead to queries taking a long time if you try to bring everything back. We are constantly working on getting that down and will hopefully be able to make it always return all at some point.

HI, currently the rhyme or reason is that when a collection has mixed types, you'll get separate categories for each type. When it doesn't, it will scroll vertically like before.

I just noticed the side scrolling, as my collections are not that large and only a few mixed.. but there doesn't appear to be a rhyme or reason to which ones will scroll and which ones won't.. looked all over for a way to toggle.. no joy. @LukeHaving an option to toggle between mixed-no side scroll or mixed-category side scroll would be the perfect solution for me, personally I like them mixed in chronological order since TV series are clearly marked it not like I won't be able to find them. Thanks again for all the great work on EMBY over the years!!

That's surprising, since the server sometimes adds that. Maybe you're adding it in cases in which the server does something different with it, and overwriting the server value. For best compatibility I would just let the value pass through from Emby Server if you can.

I have kind of the same problem playing AVI container (not AV1 like you) with XVID on my Roku. The hardware encoder with QuickSync produces green all over the screen. I have to uncheck the quicksync hardware encoder and only software encode those or it will not play correctly. You can try to change some settings inside the COG. Once you click it the menu below opens up. If you completely mess it up and nothing plays you can always "Reset to Default" at the bottom and save. The bitrate mode and encoding profile limit are what I change at times.

I performed some tests and disabled transcoding for my user, it seems to be directly playing TrueHD on Apple TV. Codecs I have tested with transcoding disabled and without issues: 1080p H264 AAC AC3 TRUEHD 4K HDR 10 HEVC 4K Dolby Vision HEVC DTS-HD MA

I didn't necessarily think I did, but I had it in place anyway. If I go to tv.mydomain.com internally on port 443, Caddy is going to be what is answering. If I hit http://tv.mydomain.com:8096 directly, it should be hitting Emby directly. I was trying to make it so a mobile device behaves exactly the same if it is in my house or if it is remote.

Hello, I have Emby server 4.8.3 on a Synology NAS and there's an issue with the Trakt plugin. Adding TV episodes to the library of Trakt has stopped working. If I manually add an episode that I have on my emby library it is later removed. This is from Emby log: 2024-05-18 13:04:39.110 Info App: Removing item from database, Type: Series, Name: Young Sheldon, Path: /volume1/Emby/Σειρές/Young.Sheldon.S07E14.1080p.WEB.H264-SuccessfulCrab[TGx], Id: 64242 Strangely enough, when I watch this episode, it's correctly marked as watched in Trakt. Any ideas?

Why do you think you need to use the split DNS configuration and use the same name on both networks? Is Caddy only used for WAN access and LAN is direct to the server? Are you trying to use HTTPS on both WAN and LAN? Apps on mobile devices can already switch between LAN and WAN connections as long as the Emby network settings are correct. One of the problems with DNS these days is the advent of DoH and how some applications and possibly devices can choose to override or ignore your network settings for name resolution.
