And now it's broken again.

Any new themes for android tv? It feels like forever or years since we e had any new themes whereas the android app gets cool purple colours? Can someone design this some please or add to the beta?

Don’t think there’s much difference between the two. Only thing I use is the Auro-3D as it gives a better result to my ears than the other upmixers. It’s always difficult comparing receivers, unless you have the time and ability to switch out different models. One thing I have noticed is I can push the denon louder than my onkyo, at a point the onkyo would sound uncomfortable. Not sure if that’s because the calibration is better with the demon, or the Atmos speakers help in some way, or maybe the new paint on the walls is absorbing reflections better, who knows Just be happy with what you’ve bought!!

There are some differences, but hard to know whether they are meaningful. I use a HDHomerun in Australia and I always find the raw .ts output to be a bit buggy. Audio out of sync and random other issues, but I automatically convert recordings to mkv using Emby's built-in conversion option and they play fine, even when the same .ts file has issues. I'm not sure if it is something in the way that Emby writes the recording, or if it's on the HDHomerun end, or it's a TV issue (Samsung in my case), but either way, I've never found the raw .ts files to be overly reliable

Been having some issues with playback stopping today on my desktop using Chrome. It's like buffering just "stopped" because the spinners are showing, the player is indicating "play" and even the playlist has those 3 play-bars: As before, waiting long enough causes playback to resume for some reason after these calls: I noticed ffprobe was pretty busy at this time, but the server and by extension Emby Server were still fast to respond.

I find that use think the filter resets it self when done and then weird me asking why they can't find the video they are looking for That's when they can even find the filter option. My users are not the brightest sometimes but emby could use a bit of user friendliness update, like text on some buttons instead of icons. Just my opinion.

Hi to all. The poblem is put the correct number to correlate it, the name to the correct chapter. (in episodes is easy because have the number correlation) The list is missing episodes. I have to find the title and count to put the correct number, but with some content is very dificult. When I try to search the missing episodes: I can't find out which number that chapter corresponds to. I can't correlate it, I need to be count each one. I think that the one is 0x01, the next is 0x03, but if I donwload only film, included in specials, and the position is the 0x130, is very dificult to find in the list:

im uk. also one more update.. i added the video without the meta data to emby as you would with other collections and the video acts exactly the same and does not playback. I have a fairly large library of ts videos recorded from my satellite tv box and have never had an issue with playback. it just seems to be the ones recorded on emby is there nothing different with the files apart from one is interlaced? the video that does not direct play back is on a tv channel without adverts. thanks

Yep, that sounds like a mixed bag. Not quite sure what to suggest. If they're all DirectPlay and sometimes work and other times don't then there possibly isn't much we can do. Not sure what country you're in, but I recall someone reporting issues a few years ago with UK recordings where commercial breaks could be played in a different format to the main program, so depending on whether you started playback during the program or the commercial you could get different results, although I'm not entirely sure this is your issue.

just a quick update, if I force mpegts to transcode. it does play okay, although it does take 30 seconds to start. so it would seem it is an issue with the direct play? thanks

hi there, I have checked back and the interlaced one does not play, however there is other interlaced recordings that do play. I checked this in mediainfo. there is other recordings with scan type MBAFF, some play, some do not. so I don't think this is the problem. To confuse you even more i have recorded the same programme on the same channel, a quiz show, 1 plays 1 does not. it seems to be luck of the draw. if I start a playback on the other lg tv or emby windows app and resume on the lgtv with the issue, it will playback ok. just does not playback from the beginning. ive attached to pictures with stats for nerds, everything i watch on emby is direct play. thanks

Because the Playstore for stable is no longer being updated as Emby transitions to their new Android app and they were told they can't update both at this time. Which is why you need to either join the beta Playstore, or sideload if you want to remain current with ATV. Otherwise, try the new app and run both.

@LukeI'd advise to also enforce CDATA tags if special characters are going to be supported, otherwise the XML (might not be) considered valid. Are you sure that username is correct? It doesn't look right. I'm going to assume you are trying to connect to someone else's server? Have you tried contacting them for assistance? This forum is typically for those who are running their own server.

What’s weird still is YouTube trailers are still broken in 2.1.23 not until I updated to beta 2.1.44 or 2.1.29g it fixed it? Yet 2.1.28 YT trailers were fixed so why is 2.1.29g not on the play store to resolve this?

The one that won't play is interlaced, so that may be part of the problem. Can you please play them both back, and for the one works, please confirm the playback method via stats for nerds - I suspect it is DirectPlay for the container, video and audio. For the one that does not play, does it produce any ffmpeg directstream or transcode logs? If it does, can you please attach? Thanks

Fair enough, although the date updated is incorrect, as 2.1.23 was released 7 December 2025. In any case, you'll always get the latest version from the Play Store. If you want to try the beta version, join the Beta chanel as stated earlier. Everything released after 2.1.23 is listed here.

There's no point in masking local addresses (except making troubleshooting harder by an order of magnitude).

It's been many years that I've been waiting for this feature to come back, and I think this idea is the best compromise to accommodate both types of users: people who want the features and people who don't want the features. In my opinion, people who want the "Immersive Gesture Playback Controls" are usually the ones who are willing to spend time tinkering with the settings and to toggle certain features on/off. For Apple users, they may have the Infuse app that works perfectly well with Emby Server. However, as an Android user myself, the closest thing to Infuse I can find is Vidhub, it has the immersive gesture control just like Infuse but it is nowhere close to Infuse/Emby in terms of the automatic management of downloaded media like TV Shows, the downloaded media are not automatically grouped together into seasons and series, the downloads do not automatically include external subtitle files from the server, and the series can't be play successively one after another. My conclusion is that the original Emby for Android app is still the best app for watching downloaded media from Emby Server. I have been a lifetime Emby Premiere user for quite many years now and I really think that this feature would be a huge plus to many users who enjoy the immersive experience of gesture controls. So if there is any possible way that this feature can be brought back to life, I would sincerely be very grateful. Again, thank you for all the hard work and I truly appreciate everything that the Emby team has done.

It shouldn't matter what is listed here, as the Play Stores will give you the latest version, whether Stable of Beta. Hopefully @ebrcan confirm the current version of Stable for Google and Amazon, as I am seeing 2.1.29 as the Stable version on the forums, but that may just apply to the Google release. Then I will update.
