Micro-stutters with 25 FPS content on Apple TV Emby app

Hi, I'm having the following problem with version 2.0.7. While playing a TV series, the playback froze briefly three times within two minutes, then jumped back about two seconds and continued playing. I stopped it after two minutes and watched it using Infuse, where everything played back flawlessly. The log file is attached. embyserver.txt -
One minor comment about changing the server display name... Somehow if the server name contains the word "emby" in any form (e.g., "EMBY", "Emby", etc.), the title of the media server in the shown in the browser tab will always change the word "Emby" to "Media Server". For example, if I change the Server name to "Emby Server", it will become "Media Server Server", or if I change the name to "MY-EMBY-SERVER", it will become "MY-Media Server-SERVER". As I said, this is just one minor detail that I noted, nothing significant, as long as I don't use the word "Emby" then I'm fine.

Strange. I didn't create or import these folders nor have I used any of the Synology apps that are referenced. They were created on 21 JUN 2026 which was 4 days after I installed the EMBY server software. Other than updates, there's been no other change to my NAS in years. I couldn't correlate any update with the appearance of the folder either. I asked as a point of curiosity. I started by asking EMBY users because it seemed the path of least resistance. I'll just have to research this deeper. Thanks to everyone for their input.

what can I provide for someone to help me with emby connect? I have the hardest time with this and everywhere I read on how to do it.. "Its easy" ... i havent found any part of this easy... What is the secret? I have registered, validated and try to add user to emby but all i get is the error. every time

I would say they are not a season but need to have their own folder and not mixed together with season 1. I will set the setting to always show folders. Because Sonarr has them separate and not mixed in, and it is easier to find them when viewing in emby if they are in separate folder. As a UI/UX nerd it would be nice but not necessary to have a single season to display the eps across the screen and then display folders if a +1 of either a special or another season is added

Booting from USB was a thing well before 2015. When you stated that it died and wouldn't boot from disk or USB I interpreted that to mean it wasn't even POSTing. Hence the battery recommendation. It would be good to bring it back to life while you build a new one and can take your time doing it. Maybe try different USB ports, drives and even OS to see if it gets further.

Emby Expiry Manager : Schedule library items for automatic deletion. Pick any movie, series, season, or individual episode, set a date/time, and a background scheduler removes it automatically at your chosen interval. Two removal modes are supported: delete from disk, which removes the item and its files permanently, and library only, which removes it from Emby while keeping the files. For library-only removals, the item is moved into a _deleted folder placed automatically inside the same library creating .embyignore file inside so Emby's scanner never recreates an empty shell for it. Shows badge and gives warning before the item leaves emby library (requires plugin emby new overlay v1.3.2.0 which is available in the forum page plugin/new badge overlay plugin) EmbyExpiry.dll

lo que me he dado cuenta es que me añade siempre todos los nuevos archivos con fecha 01-01-2000 es curioso sin respetar la fecha de origen del archivo. y esta puesto bien en opciones avanzadas creo que el problema puede venir por ahi.... toda la biblioteca esta como si fueran los archivos el 01-01-2000 solución a esto? gracias

It gives the same error. I'll stick with version 2.2.8 of the TV software, which works. I've installed and uninstalled it many times, and with different versions, and it's still the same. Whatever the problem is, if I ever format my PC or uninstall and reinstall Emby and it still gives me the same issue, I'll let you know. But for now, the only thing I can see clearly is that videos with external subtitles, whether .srt or .ass files, cause problems. Thanks to everyone for your help. -

This plugin depends that emby hold intromarkers on the series. If emby doesn't have intros for it, the plugin skips it. But that is certainly fixable. ChapterAPI lets you create IntroStart and IntroEnd markers, which is exactly what my plugin looks for. This way you could even make them for movies, just set IntroStart/IntroEnd markers with ChapterAPI. For Movies you could use that trick to get favorite scenes as Backdrops.

Great! I use Powershell scripts available at the moment but a plugin would off course be much better. Discovered one thing now, when running it on a new folder (Documentary series) that it skippes ceratain series folders. I have deleted all backdrop and trailer folders in each series folders and ran it again, but it skippes same series again, any tips for troubleshooting on my end? Im guessing folder structure isnt the issue since its all the same structure and some gets added properly Thanx!

That is something I am already experimenting with. The problem, a move has no markers for intros. Only maybe chapters. It would be either something like, generate a random 110sec clip or scan for Chapters and for scenes with high average bitrates, which suggests heavy action scenes.

Hi Luke, In the "just Emby" for Android app, it's correct (you also use "Du" instead of "Sie" there). It sounds much better, but that's a different topic! " For me, the issue only occurs in the Emby for Android TV app. By the way, it also happens on other Android TV devices, so it's not just a problem for me. -
