Familia Chapin started following Emby not displaying new subtitles
-
HI I am facing an issue with emby as of maybe last week, it is not seeing new (external) subtitles. I downloaded the subs using the subtitle interface in Emby (linked through open subs) so we know the naming and folder placement is correct. It kept saying download completed, but after several refreshes, server restarts, and library scans (even meta data refresh), it did not show. I went in to the folder itself and saw emby actually downloaded every time. So I had like 8 instances of the subtitle. I also downloaded my own and named them. No change. Emby is showing subtitles that were downloaded before this period just fine (internal and external). Many of my media is also failing to reproduce on Roku though it will play on android (phone) app. Even types that are native to Roku fail. Not sure how to pull logs for this, but i am attaching what i have. Let me know if you need any additional logs. I also sent logs via Roku app at 3:45pm. It was user Familia and we were trying to play episode S2026:E110 - GER-Sachsenring - MotoGP Race from TV show MotoGP and Free Willy (movie). embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-c47f3914-6f0a-4f4b-99b2-cea80620e701_1.txt

Emby for Android on Shield TV no longer passing through dolby digital 5.1 or DTS
ChateauPlex replied to Kramerika's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I am having the same experience with Android TV app 2.1.48g on Nvidia Shield Pro. Files that played without issue on 7/9 and 7/10 now require triggering playback correction three times before audio comes through. Standard Android app 3.5.36 stops playback after second playback correction. Audio output to stereo USB DAC. Server version 4.9.5.0 on Windows Server 2019 and Ethernet, recent server logs attached. ffmpeg-transcode-371cc02f-f4fc-402e-ae07-4036cbd62763_1.txt ffmpeg-remux-69641276-adf6-44df-9ad7-3589d378e9a2_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-008b2e5f-7be7-4430-9d21-afc937f0e6f5_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3417c941-ca8f-41bd-a084-f1ad3c420bc4_1.txt -
So if you set a recording and it is labelled part 1 and part 2 it only records part 1 and ignores part 2? What about if you set the recording to record all new for that show will it still not record part 2? Myself I have not recorded anything with 2 parts per 1 season. I set it to record everything new and then it auto converts everything for me to 8 so all my tv's can play it without any problems. It works really good and I like it so we never miss the news anymore thanks to emby working as good as it does, just set it and forget it.

Please also add CreditsEnd to the DB besides IntroStart/IntroEnd/CreditsStart
Luke replied to Kyouma's topic in Feature Requests
Hi, isn't credits end the same as the end of the video file? -
They are typically in the three week timeframe, but there have been some occasions when they take much longer. And that is also assuming we get through on the first try. Unfortunately they also have a tendency to reject updates for silly reasons because they don't take the time to learn how features work and end up thinking something isn't working.

The Emby app is running on a Roku Ultra connected to the TV. THX

I had never done this before so when I saw the password.txt file I searched online and it led me to this: Admin Password Reset | Emby Documentation I honestly still don't even know how I managed to generate the password.txt file at all. Since then all has been well and if it happens again I'll just follow this KB article again.

Thank you very much, Luke, for taking the time to review the feedback and potentially add this option, which will be greatly appreciated. Best regards, -

Hi! I have no idea what setup is, but im assuming you have client on LG and server somewhere else? Im thinking screensaver.. If im not mistaken its the same as for all other media, you could choose to have display cover-art from your music library as screensaver, set it on some timeframe of your choosing.. N/

Live TV on Android TV stick (Strong Leap 4K) - problem with SD content
stevenpuk posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Hi all I've been using emby as a premiere member for years on various devices and have only just encountered the first problem I've been unable to resolve through searching the forums, reddit and trying all sorts of changes to emby server and client settings. Set up: I have two emby servers, one on a QNAP NAS holding my DVD and Bluray collection and the other on a windows 11 pro machine running Live TV via a HDHomeRun Quattro. I'm in the UK. I have numerous clients: Samsung and LG TVs, android mobiles and tablets and windows devices. I've no issues with the QNAP NAS server, only the windows one running Emby Live TV. Live TV works fine on the Samsung, LG and windows devices. It struggles a bit on a Samsung mobile but not on a Pixel mobile. I recently bought a Strong Leap NOVA 4K stick to replace Tizen on an ageing TV. As most of you know, there are two apps in the Play store - the stock android app and a specific android TV app. Since there is a general move towards using the stock android app rather than the android TV app, I installed that first. The stock android app on the NOVA stick looks very much what I'm used to on other devices and I'm really pleased that it it does direct play PGS subtitles from my NAS collection and also gapless playback on ogg vorbis music tracks. However, I've got some peculiar problems with the stock android app on the NOVA stick. It picks up the HDHomeRun fine but will not play any SD (MPEG-TS 576i) live content. This is regardless of whether direct play LiveTV is on or off and regardless of whether auto stream or specific stream rates are selected. The screen simply shows a still image and no sound. It plays the HD channels (e.g. BBC 1 HD on 101) fine. It will also not play previously recorded SD content on the windows server but will play previously recorded HD content. If it's any help, 'stats for nerds' says the renderer is Mediacodec on the NOVA stick. I've spent hours trying to get it to work and in the end gave the specific android TV app a try - and it works! I'd rather use the stock android app, so any help gratefully received. My searches hint it might be something to do with deinterlacing the 576i stream but I can't find any setting relating to this. Thanks, Steven -

@LukeHere is some more info for changes in api posted on GitHub. I hope this helps narrow down what’s going on. “Likely related to the recent Trakt API change that returns paginated results. The data is there, the app just needs to grab each page of data to obtain your full watched history.” https://github.com/trakt/trakt-api/discussions/775

This works very well, thank you. May I suggest a way to select all content marked for purging, and adding them to a collection or similar? It would be useful to have a section for the users where they can see everything that will be deleted soon. I've made such a collection myself, but I selected everything manually from the usual library views. For episodes, that took quite a while.

Buenas tardes.

Do we even have an approximate date for when LG might review the app? It's been under review for over a month now.

Let me give another example with some documented photos and the up to date log. TV show "The Bear" Filed under the headline of "Bear, The" Sub folders for Seasons 1-4 with episodes stored in each one as such "the-bear-s01e01-1080" I added "Season 5" with the same naming convention. Emby picks up that it is indeed Season 5 and adds them but doesn't add any episode title / plot / thumbnails like the other 4 seasons. Have a look at my attached for evidence of this. embyserver-2.txt

Fire a script or program every time there is a channel change.on live tv.
Leafstrider replied to Leafstrider's topic in General/Windows
Someone refers to anyone that reads that message. Thats the whole point of the message base is it not? How else should i refer to anyone, who reads that, with one word? I am realizing i need to be more careful with wording, as i realize this software is used all over the world and english is not everyones fist language. and of course my poor spelling. LOL Fire refers to trigering a file meaning scripts, executables, and or bat's to be run. As for "where" that could be anywhere, as that will be determined by the process that runs the file. As you did not ask when, it is "When a user changes the channel on Iive TV". With the user being, someone who logs in though the intranet, being internal net. Cool? Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for asking. -
Unnecessary and problematic suffix for .bif generation
Satanasss replied to Satanasss's topic in General/Windows
Thanks for the feedback. I completely understand; personally, I don't experience any issues or slowdowns without the suffixes. Still, couldn't we have an option to choose whether to use suffixes or not ? Best regards. -
@Luketried refreshing metadata, renaming the files, renaming the headline files to include TMDB ID numbers all sorts. It doesn't want to know haha.. Its across a lot of TV shows (strangely not movies jut TV shows)
-
weirdly I tried using Plex to see what would happen. PLex doesn't even find the files!! I think it must have something to do with when I started compressing them with Handbrake. Its the only possible explanation but I cut find any connections between metadata loss and compressing a file. I am selecting "passthrough common metadata when I do it"
