Ignore m3u and add dropdown for playlists
StuBailey replied to dannymichel's topic in Feature Requests
For starters I looked in the Playlist Library and it didn't show after turning off the import.. I see how it works so to see that playlist in another library, if it was working, would require I have a path in that/those library.. I have lots working this way except for a music playlist. -

Video Playback Forces "Presentation Mode" / Hijacks Entire Screen on Samsung DeX (One UI 8.0 / Android 16)
prioirty_queue replied to prioirty_queue's topic in Android
The issue has been resolved on my device. Thank you very much! There is still one minor issue: in DeX mode, when I move the mouse cursor over the floating Emby video window during playback, the cursor becomes invisible. It looks as though the cursor is being rendered underneath the Emby video layer. However, the cursor is only visually hidden. When I move it to the corresponding positions, I can still interact with the playback controls normally, such as Settings, fast-forward, and so on. Therefore, I don’t think this is a major issue. -

Android (not TV) application will not auto-connect to known server (LAN)
voodoo5_6k posted a topic in Android
Hi, I've just installed the current version from github and it stopped auto-connecting to the known server (on the LAN). Every time when restarting the application, it will stop at the select server window. If I select the known server, and hit connect, it will connect. Forgetting the server and re-entering everything won't alter the application's behaviour. This behaviour is new. The previous version didn't do this. And nothing else changed. -
Still no news?

chuwz started following Bring an Emby for Android TV's design to the Emby Universal App
-
Hello @Luke@ebr I'm using the Emby for Android TV 2.1.51g. I found that the design of Emby for Android TV was exactly what I was looking for. As shown in the video, when I select Episode 3 and press the down arrow on the remote, the following happens: Episode 3 is selected in the “More from” section. Screenbits 2026-07-25_132556.mp4 In other words, on Emby for Android TV, the poster displayed under “More from” is always the current episode. I know But the fact is that Emby for Android TV is designed to display the current episode's poster. Because Emby for Android TV has a lot of issues, such as this bug, I gave up on Emby for Android TV and switched to the Emby Universal App. However, the design of the Emby Universal App is odd—it’s far inferior to the “always display the current episode’s poster” design of Emby for Android TV. Here's how Emby Universal App is currently designed: When I enter Episode 3 and press the “Down” button on the remote, the “More from” section moves the cursor to Episode 4 or Episode 2. (as shown in the video). Screenbits 2026-07-27_071108.mp4 This design prevented me from seeing the poster for the current episode, so I enabled "Show a poster on the detail screen". Then I noticed a BUG on my Android TV At this point, it should select the episode 2, but it selects the episode 3 instead. In other words, the cursor selection is messed up... I'm reporting this BUG here (I recorded a video; you can take a look.); please fix it as soon as possible. Therefore, the Emby Universal App currently does not support the feature where “the poster displayed under ‘More from’ is always the current episode,” unless you port this design from Emby for Android TV to the Emby Universal App. By the way, this design by Emby Universal App is quite illogical, because both Plex and third-party Emby clients use a design that “displays the poster for the current series.” Plex does Yamby does (this is a video) Screenbits 2026-07-27_114244.mp4 Hills does So could you please bring this Emby for Android TV's design to the Emby Universal App? Thank you very much!

[iOS] Embeat — a native, music-only player for Emby (gapless, DLNA, offline)
vdatanet posted a topic in Third Party Apps
Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Embeat, a native iOS music player for Emby, and it just went live on the App Store today. Full disclosure up front: it's my own app and it's a paid subscription (€9.99/year, one month free) — I'd rather say that in the first paragraph than bury it. Why I built it I have a large, carefully tagged FLAC/ALAC collection on my own server, and I kept running into the same thing: the general-purpose media-center apps treat music as a second-class citizen. What I wanted was the Plexamp-style experience — but for Emby. Reading this forum, it turns out I'm far from the only one who's been asking for that, so I built it. Embeat does music and nothing else. No video, no photos, no library management. It talks straight to your server; there is no cloud service of mine in the middle. What it does Gapless playback — lossless direct play of FLAC and ALAC, with no audible gap between tracks on live albums and continuous mixes. HLS/AAC on mobile — when the network gets shaky, the server transcodes to adaptive HLS/AAC. Instant seek, and it recovers from dropouts without skipping the track. Offline downloads — tracks, albums or whole playlists onto the device, playable with the server unreachable. Original quality or AAC to save space, with a screen to see and clear what you've got stored. Embeat Connect (DLNA/UPnP) — automatic discovery of renderers on your network, then playback, volume and position control from the phone. Playlist management — create, rename, delete, add/remove tracks and reorder. Written back to the server. Library browsing — artists, albums, tracks, genres and playlists, as a list or a grid per collection type, with sorting (name, date added, year, artist) and filters (genre, favorites). Long-press context menu — play next, add to queue, add to a playlist, start a radio, jump to album/artist, toggle favorite. Editable queue, persistent shuffle/repeat, customizable home carousels, global search grouped by type. Multi-server — add as many servers as you like and switch between them without logging in again. Siri — "Play <artist> on Embeat" via App Intents. Lock screen / Control Center artwork and controls, background playback, and playback reporting to the server so recently played, play counts and now playing stay correct. Interface in English, Catalan and Spanish, following the system language. Requirements and honest caveats iPhone, iOS 18.4 or later. No iPad-specific layout yet, no CarPlay yet. No Android version yet. It's actively in development — the app is built on a shared Kotlin Multiplatform core, so all the server, library and playback logic is already cross-platform. I'm not going to promise a date. Not there yet: lyrics, scrobbling to Last.fm/ListenBrainz, crossfade, ReplayGain, AirPlay/Chromecast, and automatic server discovery on the LAN (you enter the server URL manually the first time). It also works with Jellyfin, since the two share an API surface. I mention it for completeness, not to start anything — most of the driver code is common, with the handful of genuine endpoint differences verified against real servers of both kinds. Privacy Embeat only talks to your server. Credentials are stored encrypted in the device Keychain. No analytics, no tracking, no account with me — the App Store handles the subscription and I never see your library. Links App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/embeat/id6788410988 Site (features, pricing, FAQ, privacy policy and terms): https://embeat.media I'd genuinely like feedback from people running big libraries — that's where the interesting edge cases live (odd tag layouts, mixed sample rates, huge playlists, slow remote connections). Bug reports and feature requests are welcome here or by email, and I read everything. Thanks to the Emby team and this community — the server does the hard part. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Emby. Emby is a trademark of its respective owner.-

[Beta] ROMote – play your retro game collection in the browser (NES → PlayStation)
GrimEvil replied to digitalirony's topic in Plugins
So now for my main feedback Currently I can see the below systems For example for psx does not show up at all, I have a folder full of games if I use folder view, i can see them as below They also load no issue using the emulator, I think you plugin needs the extension adding, which is .pbp as per an example of one of the psx game folders. Now for my next one, can you add support for other systems, list below of systems and extensions, Atari 2600 bin a26 Atari 5200 a52 Atari 7800 bin a78 Atari Jaguar j64 jag Atari Lynx lnx Atari XL/XE atr xex exe car Atari ST stx st Final Burn Alpha zip 7z Commodore Amiga adf hdf Commodore 64 d64 d6z d71 d7z d80 d81 d82 d8z g64 g6z g41 g4z x64 x6z nib nbz t64 tap prg p00 crt bin Game Boy gb Game Boy Advance gba Game Boy Color gbc gb MAME(mame2003) zip 7z MSX cas dsk mx1 mx2 col rom Nintendo 64 n64 v64 z64 Nintendo Entertainment System nes Panasonic 3DO iso bin img PC MS-DOS one folder PC Engine / TurboGrafx pce cue ccd iso img bin chd Playstation iso cue bin img mdf pbp toc cbn m3u PSP iso elf cso prx pbp ScummVM one folder Sega 32X 32x Sega CD iso cue bin Sega Dreamcast gdi cdi chd Sega Game Gear gg Sega Genesis/MegaDrive mdx md smd gen iso cue bin sms gg sg Sega Master System sms Sega Saturn cue ccd iso mds chd Super Nintendo smc sfc ZX Spectrum tzx tap z80 rzx scl trd A lot of different systems use the same extension type for their roms. I think most of the above is supported by emulatorjs and that was part of my request for the Bios folder setup and adding support for most of the above extensions would make it more compatible with versions people would have or use. You may have to change how you support a system due to the above and of course also adding zip support would also help with file storage. if you need any further information or help let me know -

As I know Web CSS can change Movie page's interface on web Will EMBY TEAM launch a revolution for the movie page? Right now, the movie page only occupies about half the screen, unlike other apps that take up the whole display, with the movie logo sitting right in the middle of the TV... and below that are the cast members. Will it change to something like a rounded UI style?

Hi @MarvinB Congratulations on your release and thank you for sharing. Setup worked first time for me. As well as a comforting success message on albums, playlists etc, I got an ominous "Emby did not respond quickly enough to some items" to the command "Alexa, ask Ear Wax provider status". I cant get to the bottom of why emby [rest api] is sometimes super speedy to respond and sometimes it is glacial for certain queries - but thats not an Ear Wax issue. the setup page returned an inconsequential warning "Unexpected token '<', "<!DOCTYPE "... is not valid JSON". didnt seem to affect anything. I love the "what is playing" feature. Do you share a roadmap of whats next on your mind for Ear Wax, I would love to see "Play track" support, for when i just want to play a track and i cant rememeber who it is by. I wasnt clear from your setup guide where the intended place to ask support queries was?

Roku is forcing HDHomeRun stream transcoding by Emby Server?
xe` replied to SmplyUnprdctble's topic in Roku
Just a quick post since its relevant to the topic. I eventually enforced transcoding for HDhomerun as TS is just not reliable day to day streaming over the internet or I guess any less reliable connection perhaps even wifi (guess). If anyone lands on this with lockups and audio glitches using HDhomerun I recommend just enabling on the fly trnascoding client side setting. Prior to this lockups were daily (year +) and after this they never happen (6 months+) -
And indeed, rebooting the AVR seems to have resolved the issue.
