A request to Emby - please clarify the situation with the AndroidTv app
FrostByte replied to ecrispy's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Emby for Android is the one Emby wants to eventually consolidate to. Shares code and looks with their other clients so will require less time coding. Emby for AndroidTV is the one that is slowly being sunsetted. However, ebr is still maintaining it to fix bugs and make sure it still runs with any server changes and many people still run it. You can have them both installed. The process has been going on for about 6 years now and probably will for some time so you can run the one you like the most for right now. Both have features not found in the other. As far as that option I believe Emby for Android is the only one which allows you to do almost anything you can do on the server website. However, I'm having problems with my Shield right now and can't confirm that. -

Mint: No compatible streams are currently available
EriksUsername replied to EriksUsername's topic in Linux
Hi everyone, sorry it took so long to report back on this, but as it turns out it wasn't a sleep issue but a naming problem: one of my external hard drives is an internal disk I had removed from an older machine, and on it were two separate partitions that Linux called '[Drive name]1' and '[Drive name]2'. For some reason, every time an external device was connected or disconnected, Linux wanted to rename these partitions and as a result, my Emby libraries were disconnected from them. I have now renamed both partitions to something semantically relevant and for a few weeks now, everything has been working as it should. Thanks again for your help! -
Issues are enabled on GitHub for all users. It is a bit slow when there's a lot of data to load, I'm exploring improvements for that. You could try the beta branch which has some improvements in that regard, though I'm still exploring other ways to improve loading speed. It would be helpful if you could post your issues on GitHub for easier tracking.

I did not know what you mean initially, I thought you meant Refresh Metadata. Scan Metadata task took 41 seconds. I looked through some movies and so far I do not see broken images. I have also added 2 new movies and all photos are there, I will keep monitoring it. Thanks for the help.

I have read through the posts and the cause of the issues was this. Migration from filesystem with different delimeters in paths ("\" and "/") is not an option unless you find all the references and correct them. For example all the Images paths for the cast will have the wrong path folder delimeter Browsing the log from the 11th August - shows you have one library still referencing a windows path! Library: Muzyka, id: 7, CollectionType: music, CollapseSingleItemFolders: False, ForceCollapseSingleItemFolders: False Configured paths: /media/oomek/Data/MP3,D:\MP3 Library Folder: MP3, id: 8: path: D:\MP3 Library Folder: MP3, id: 67136: path: /media/oomek/Data/MP3 if all the media in D:\MP3 is now in /media/oomek/Data/MP3 then just edit that library and remove the D Drive windows path I will send you a link to upload a zip of the database and I will have a look to see what can be done to salvage this setup If you did have an issue with missing cast images before the migration from windows to linux then that would have been a different issue

High RAM usage on Emby Server 4.9.3.0 even with Direct Play and rclone mounts
yocker replied to jordan888's topic in Linux
How much memory does the server have? Asking because in my case it looks like it's the server caching files that caused high memory usage. -
High RAM usage on Emby Server 4.9.3.0 even with Direct Play and rclone mounts
sa2000 replied to jordan888's topic in Linux
@iloveparksCould you check these out to see if they are factors - Server Settings / Database : Database cache size (Mb) - Server Settings / Scheduled Tasks / Library - Scan Media Library - open it up and see what the frequency is / interval between scans With the now multiple database connections, I would recommend setting the database cache to the current default value of 128 Mb and if you have lots of RAM, try out increasing it gradually For the scheduled san - suggest minimum interval of 24 hours between scans -
MediaInfo For Emby Plugin(HDR, Vision, Atmos, DTS:X)
rbjtech replied to Cheesegeezer's topic in Plugins
Yes, the version in the catalogue is the last version that was submitted by the original author (in collaboration with me). I took on the maintanance and upgraded many functions, but I did not want to support it ongoing - thus updates in the thread only. It's an inevitable result of people moving on with their lives. -
I think it's worth a shot. I don't know but I'm guessing success will depend on the setting under Read proxy headers to determine client IP addresses. Bottom line is you need something to make sure you're not responding to connection attempts from any addresses not on this list: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips-v4/# Whether your firewall, NGINX, or Emby itself, something needs to be doing that job.
-
I somehow missed this post. The fact that the attack came from an IP that should have been blocked given my CloudFlare config means it's bypassing CloudFlare's protection, so shifting to a whitelist means added hassle for little benefit. So you're saying that I should add those as a whitelist within Emby, as all connections from CloudFlare should come from one of those IP addresses? Because I had a look at the last successful remote connection to my server, which would have come through the domain, and it was from an IP that's not on that list. FQDN?

MediaInfo For Emby Plugin(HDR, Vision, Atmos, DTS:X)
lorac replied to Cheesegeezer's topic in Plugins
I'd assume because the owner of the plug-in doesn't submit the updates to the catalog. There's been some talk that all / most of the functionality the plug-in provides will eventually be incorporated into emby but i would not expect to see that for a while. -
There are no problems it works great. As Luke said provide further information if you require assitance.

Alexa stop playing after the first song ends on multi echo devices (3rd generation).

Thanks for the feedback. If I understand correctly if you say "next" near the end of the song it doesn't work but at the beginning or middle of the song it does? -

Is there a reason that the version of the plug in availible via the Emby Plug-in menu is so much older than what can be downloaded here in the forum? -
Request... Custom settings for Are you still Watching
previousaddress posted a topic in Feature Requests
Hey guys, Any chance we could have some custom settings for "Are you still Watching?" user preferences.. I have noticed that the current option is too random. When you watch a tv series on and fall asleep and you wake up the series is still playing.. This happens more often than not. This isn't efficient for running a server i don't believe, especially when you have other users on your server and the server is playing for ridiculously long periods of time when people are clearly asleep or have left it running accidentally. Maybe an option to check after 2 or 3 episodes would work more efficiently or have custom settings to check after each episode or after every 2 or 3.. i personally believe this should be a bit of a priority on your list. Keep up the good work.-

The unofficial plug-in works pretty well. Make sure you've got the most recent dll, to ensure compatibility with the latest server version. I wouldn't call it full-featured, but it does the basics.

@stplattGave this a whirl and ran into several problems but you have issues disabled on GitHub, do you want issue reported here?? Main issues I hit were it being incredibly slow and once it did get data for July 26, it kept showing the same data for the year when i switched to 2026 (this is with a Tracearr connect) Also, the data it did spit out had no images??

Can this be used to stream twich channels
-
I' not sure if this works with CF: but adding this to your nginx will block all requests not using your FQDN. server { listen ... ssl.... ..stuif server_name emby.crusher11.com # using this won't get rejected return 444;
-
I think you were suggesting they create a whitlelist through the CF firewall rules. That works to filter anyone connecting to the domain, but it seems like OP is concerned with direct connections to his open port. Putting the actual CF networks into a whitelist on the server itself should block all direct connections, right? Everything must go through CF.
-
This is a violation of the Emby terms of service. No one on the forums will help you.
-
I suggested that, but they absolutely do not seem interested in using the tools available to them.
