Media Browser has been a great name over the past several years but we feel we have outgrown it. It is no longer descriptive of what we really are and carries with it some preconceptions in the minds of both people who may have heard about or used us in the past and new people who have never heard of us. We want to change that. Google It.

Universally that is not true, although it may happen in some situations. -

TV Show Status — TMDB-powered Returning/Ended/Cancelled badges for series
Blueskies278 replied to Blueskies278's topic in Plugins
Thank you for your input and suggestions. I will revise the wording in the next update. It has been a very intense few weeks, so I am taking a brief break from coding. Regarding the SDK, for now I can’t see a way to implement this feature, but it’s still on my roadmap. This will be my last post. Be back soon -
I get ya and TBH I don't even watch tv when I'm online my time is spent looking at my cover art and backdrops and testing out scripts and stuff. I would rather spend my time modding my servers and tinkering with stuff seeing what works best and what looks best if I watch anything it's youtube.

Way overkill just for an Emby server. The machine i have dedicated to Emby is just a small dell workstation i bought for around 50$ and it handles everything that has been thrown at it so far, multiple transcodes, end credit detection and much more. If all the machine has to do is run pure Emby and nothing else i would: Buy some small computer with an Intel CPU for the iGPU (not older than the 8xxx generation), stay at 8-16GB of memory and then use the saved money on some storage or something else you want. You can pretty much get old Dell computers thrown at you that can do the job without trouble. Replace the fans for some low noise, install Linux and you're off! If you still insist on buying an overkill computer you might change your mind when you see the price of memory and SSD storage.

That's how I was doing it, add netflix as one then hulu and so on until you are done. I just think it's a cool plugin I quite like it also it's good for watching live events under adding single stream it's quite great for that.

It just keeps transcoding forever though at a throttled speed when people pause their video or just quits the app. -
mario1230 started following Seek bar icon feature?
-
I made a similar post on reddit a while ago but figured I'll try here as well. I was watching Space Jam the other day and noticed the seekbar had a basketball icon instead of the regular icon. I've never seen this changed on anything else. Thought it was maybe a new feature and a great idea. Is this icon somewhere in my folder? If so, I can't find it. or is it built into the container of the file? Apparently it will also show a pumpkin icon for Halloween movies.

I would avoid a ‘K’ model processor (no cooler included), as it will require a significant 3rd-party cooler (many will not even fit in a rack mount) to take advantage of any performance benefits; they are also power-hungry. And definitely don’t get an ‘F’ model.

Emby v2.3.17 & RTX 5080: Automatic HDR not triggering (stuck in SDR output)
softworkz replied to ALLSTAR1986's topic in Windows & Xbox
Please look at Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics (IIRC, or 'Advanced Display') There's a setting like "Manage Color for all Apps" or similar. It puts the whole desktop into a kind of HDR mode and tone-maps colors back-and-forth for all apps. For the Emby Windows app, this looks like HDR is already enabled and there's nothing to switch to for enabling HDR. Please try to disable this setting and retry - you should get the same behavior like you've seen before. -

TV Show Status — TMDB-powered Returning/Ended/Cancelled badges for series
ginjaninja replied to Blueskies278's topic in Plugins
Hi @Blueskies278, I am struggling to make sense of the options and the terminology. My understanding - All levels can have thumbnails in theory, Shows, Seasons, Episodes....but the one that really matters is "Show" IMO The options should perhaps ask (and answer) questions: What do you want on your show poster. What do you want on your show thumbnail What do you want on Season Poster What do you want on your show thumbnail What do you want on Episode Poster What do you want on your Episode thumbnail Taking Show thumbnail as one example Do you want Show Status (Ended|Contuing) Do you want Premiere/Finale.* Do you want season completeness.* Info - * calculated based on your preffered users watch status. And then there are options about how you want the data presented (Color, Pill , Text, Location, blah blah blah), per level? per image type? not sure havent thought that through. *when you you say "cant be done". are you saying logical imposssibility or sdk doesnt support or not part of current thinking or something else? I dont know how the image processor function works but i assume its a case of the plugin deciding what it wants to be overlayed and how and tell emby to do that? Can the plugin know if the preffered users episode watch status is at a Premier or Finale point - i assume yes (thats core functionality to know the properties of the show/season and getting the users watched status is possible)...and have they asked for this to be tattoed anywhere....then do that...(and if not at that point remove the request or request blank - i dont know how permanent a processed image is) Can the plugin know if the preffered users episode watch status is at a season which is complete or not - i assume yes (thats core functioanlity)...and have they asked for this to be tattoed anywhere....then do that... then subscribe to the watched event and recalculate show/season/episode images for the preffered user, their preferences and the episode just watched. No doubt i have over simplified, but that was my thinking / suggestion. I am no expert but it doesnt on the surface feel like a logical impossibility or a an sdk impossibility? -
[Legacy App] Details not selectable on Detail Screens. (ET 3.0.20/21)

Yes, I'm aware of that community topic but I was referring to the actual post reporting the issue so it can be marked as the solution. -
Paused transcoded streams keep transcoding forever.
Luke replied to yocker's topic in General/Windows
Sorry, for some reason I ignored the forever part. In most cases it should stop the transcode within 60 seconds, however, whether or not this occurs depends on what other activity is happening. -

Update 26.0.18 fixes this issue. Just curious why the dev team doesn't post updates when fixing problems/bugs? -
I think that having a certain amount of variety does not hurt - rather the opposite: it keeps us from feeling too satisfied with every design decision that has been made at some point. Asking for feature XY from one app variant to be available in another one is totally legitimate and having it there rather increases chances to have it there as well. We aim to provide all features in all apps as far as possible, but differences in details always exist and not everything matches everybody's wishes and desires, so for example I wouldn't recommend you to make a post in this topic, demanding that all apps should be exactly equal..

That sounds like the last couple of pages in this thread. At least back then it appeared to be media specific and I'm surprised Luke says it's normal. -
Probably you have changed from "unconfigured to configuration-x, which may both look the same in the UI but might be treated differently in terms of operation.. Anyway, I'm glad to hear it's solved for you now. Thanks

Why is it the android tv app only, this search behaviour should be the same on all apps or via browser. Why is it on android tv and not the rest? Why isn't this consistent across all app ecosystem?

4K HEVC shows as 1080p, think I can't find any setup to fix?
Teddyknuddel replied to PeteGul's topic in Android
Enter the server path in Kodi, select it natively within the add-on, or enable Directplay in EmbyCon. -
Yeah I change monitor to an OLED but I did a fresh WIN11 install on new 980pro drive. You never know with WIN what the reasons are truly sometimes but the changing power settings timings to other and back again seems to have worked, woke up today and all was shut down from last being on homescreen. So for know I`d say this is 99% solved, but I hate not knowing exactly what the cause was means it can come back, and I bet if it does changing the power settings wont fix it and I`ll be on another headfk adventure down the windows bug hole of WTF is happening with my PC lol

The Shield one I've seen for years, never used it. Emby's match resolution has always being activated, but tried to deactivate for the test of this file. Didn't help,.but hope for a fix for this. I'll will say I'm going to try Kodi just to see if it will fix this little issue. Just for fun, loved Kodi for years 8-10 years ago
