Library Scan Not Finishing

I have the library scan hanging at 55.9% for an indefinite period of time (I have never seen it finish). This started in the last 48 hours and I haven't been able to nail down what the issue is so I thought I would post here for some help.

I started out by reading this post http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/27372-library-scan-hangs-mid-way-takes-7-8-hours-to-complete/?hl=%2Bcomplete+%2Blibrary+%2Bscan and the issue may be the same however I figured I would post this under the linux thread since thats where I am running Emby.

I have looked at the log file attached and noticed some weird things that I thought were strange in the log file and I am not sure if they are related:

  1. It says there is an error parsing <path>.xml file however I don't store metadata as XMLs and I don't store them with the library data.
  2. There are a lot of places where it indicates a GET request to http://domain.tld:8096 (changed from actual) however this isn't a real place as my server has an internal hostname of emby.domain.local and externally its only accessible from either https://domain.tld/emby (or mediabrowser) or https://domain.tld:8920 as a result I thought it was a little strange since none of those requests would likely be answered?

Thanks for your feedback!

As far as the library not scanning I have removed the music library and the scan completed as expected.

I will spend some time trying to identify what is causing the issue in the music library so that it might be able to be improved

I have reinstalled emby on a fresh install of debian 7 and still have no luck completing a library scan with my music folders.

I can't seem to determine why it keeps having issues, attached are two different logs with different folders in the music library at the time.

EDIT: After a while of hanging on the library scan emby crashes and needs to be manually restarted.

If anyone has any I could use some advise.

Thanks,

Besides the crashing part, and the fact I am in Windows not Linux, my media scan has been running for over thirty hours.

Not sure if it is connected, probably not, but I thought I would mention it.

I am going to begin removing libraraies and adding them back one at a time after a clean database task, and see if that helps.

I might consider removing plugins to see if that helps.

Initially I tied a totally clean install without any plugins at all but that didn't seem to resolve it. Also it seems to be exclusively connected to the music library. I have tried adding just a few files in and still no luck. It would be nice if I could identfy if there are just a few trouble files that are causing the issues however I haven't found any such case yet.

I also have narrowed it down to one particular library and one particular folder which, like you, contains a large amount of media files.

I also can't pinpoint the troublesome file.

Maybe this should be a feature request?? The library scan could mention the item it is stuck on...

Sorry I can't be of help.

I removed the "ImageExtractor" image fetcher and the library scan is completing now however the music library doesn't actually have any contents so it isn't adding any music to the library/database.

Log Attached.
