    Overview: Movie and television databases

Movie and television metadata services organize their own records and interfaces for programme identification and description.

TMDB, TheTVDB and OMDb maintain distinct catalogue relationships and service contracts. A title or identifier accepted by one service does not automatically select the same record in another. Their pages describe the relevant coverage and identity model so a metadata match can be investigated at its source.

    • The Movie Database (TMDB)
TMDB supplies movie, television, person and image metadata through distinct catalogue entities and language-aware API requests.

    • TheTVDB
TheTVDB supplies television and movie records whose series, season-type and episode relationships preserve the ordering context used for matching.

    • The Open Movie Database (OMDb)
OMDb exposes title search and record retrieval with distinct query parameters, IMDb references and a separately documented poster service.
