Overview: Metadata services
Metadata services supply catalogue information or artwork through provider-specific coverage, identities and interfaces.
A provider can help identify a work, enrich its description or supply a particular kind of artwork. Those roles do not always belong to one service. This area explains the provider relationship and the named services before connecting them to Emby's configured metadata sources.
How metadata providers work
A metadata provider connects library requests to a catalogue or resource source through identification, retrieval, mapping and selection.Movie and television databases
Movie and television metadata services organize their own records and interfaces for programme identification and description.MusicBrainz
MusicBrainz supplies structured music catalogue entities and relationships through separate search, lookup and browse operations.Fanart.tv
Fanart.tv provides role-specific artwork associated with movie, television and music identities, with versioned response structures and language information.IMVDb
IMVDb identifies music-video records separately from audio recordings; an archived integration illustrates how artist and song-title evidence were mapped into video metadata.Metadata providers in Emby Server
