    Overview: Source capacity

Source capacity determines which live-TV streams or subscriptions can be active at the same time.

Two playback or recording requests can compete for the same source resource even when each works alone. Tuner concurrency and IPTV connection limits describe different forms of that shared capacity. Their pages identify the resource and accounting rule behind a refused or conflicting request.

    • Tuner concurrency
Tuner concurrency depends on simultaneous compatible acquisitions and the implemented sharing policy, which can differ from the count of viewers, recordings or services.

    • IPTV connection limits
IPTV connection limits constrain a provider or source’s permitted concurrent sessions, independently of stream bitrate and client-facing playback count.
