Overview: Library scanning and media analysis
Library scanning observes accessible sources and updates the catalogue through discovery and media analysis.
A scan connects what the server can currently observe with the records already in its library. Incremental work can focus on changes, while analysis derives information or previews from the media itself. The branches here separate source observation from the later processing that enriches a catalogue entry.
Library scanning
Library scanning discovers media resources and reconciles their recognized identities, descriptions and availability with the catalogue.Incremental library scans
Incremental library scans reuse unchanged catalogue work while identifying the resources and dependent results affected by observed changes.Media analysis and previews
Media analysis and preview generation derive technical information or navigation aids from source content.
