    Overview: Media analysis and previews

Media analysis and preview generation derive technical information or navigation aids from source content.

A probe describes the media streams; intro detection identifies a content relationship; seek previews provide pictures associated with playback positions. Each operation derives a different result and has its own workload. These pages connect that derived information to the source it was analyzed from.

    • Technical analysis of library media
Technical media analysis inspects a resource’s container, streams and timing to supply playback facts independently of its catalogue description.

    • Intro detection
Episode intro detection estimates a recurring introduction interval whose start and end markers must belong to each episode’s actual timeline.

    • Seek-preview thumbnails
Seek-preview thumbnails are time-indexed small images that help a viewer locate scenes without decoding full video interactively for every seek position.
