    Overview: Platform media APIs

Platform media APIs provide operating-system or device-family routes to supported video operations.

A Windows, Linux or embedded media path has its own interface, memory and driver relationships. Those contracts determine how an application submits work and receives pictures. The platform branches describe the available routes before a codec-support or data-transfer result is interpreted.

    • Windows
Windows video interfaces connect applications to supported decoding, processing or transform operations.

    • Linux
Linux media interfaces connect codec operations, driver backends and picture-sharing mechanisms.

    • Android and embedded systems
Android and embedded media interfaces expose platform-specific codec and processing relationships.
