Deleted videos don't go away immediately

Usually, when I delete a movie (from library or latest movies or continue watching), it will take several seconds to be removed from the list, or sometimes I get out of that context then come back in and it seems to force it to go away.  Why the lag?

I think this log has a couple of deletions while I was using my Shield.

Hi there, how did you delete the video? Why do you think it doesn't go away immediately?

Hi, Luke.  I use the Delete button for the video.  I know it doesn't go away immediately because it is still showing in the UI.

Every once in a while, it will immediately go away.

So you are deleting a item from the itemsdetails page and not from library level correct?  But many factors could be at play depending on what the server is doing at the time you chose to delete something.  But it sounds like a screen refresh issue from what you have currently described.

Look at the log from 2021-07-10 19:11:57.986.  What does that tell you?

It was removed from the database, but that has nothing to do with what is showing on the screen at that time.

What exactly is showing, and where?

The normal video item/card (I don't know what you call the UI element that shows a video object) "(from library or latest movies or continue watching)".

One of these thingies:

So what exactly did you do? Deleted from the video detail screen, and then did what?

I didn't do anything.  Delete, then watch the screen to see the change.  I'm a bit confused by the question 😬

Where did you delete from?

See the OP.

You have not indicated where you deleted from, what exactly you clicked on, etc.

"when I delete a movie (from library or latest movies or continue watching)".  I click on the "Delete" icon/command in the corresponding context.

Unless this is system related, I do not see any lag deleting from Latest, Library or itemdetails in Windows via the Web Client.  I click delete, the screen refreshed and the item is gone, from itemdetails I click delete the screen refreshes and am bounced back to previous screen (Library or Home screen Latest row).

If you can do a video it may help demonstrate the issue you are having.

Most likely when you have a wall of movies and you hover/3dot/delete.  It can take a bit for the wall of movies to update.

That's one spot I've noticed that can be a bit slow to update.

Yes that would be great, thanks.

It may simply be a refresh issue.  Here's a diff workflow with the same problem.  Today (using Edge browser) I was looking at my 'latest movies' list on my home page to 'identify' the recordings.  I clicked a movie to go to the detail page, Identify cmd, find a match, OK - the poster updates appropriately.  I go back to the home page and the poster is not updated in the 'latest movies' list.  I F5 and now the poster is updated.

Last night using the Shield app, from the 'latest movies' list, I opened the detail page for a move, Delete, back at the 'latest movies' list the movie immediately goes away.  From the 'latest movies' list, we opened the detail page for a movie, started watching it, decided we didn't like it, back to detail page, Delete - back at the 'latest movies' list the movie doesn't go away.  We started watching another movie.  When that was over, both the deleted and the watched movies were gone.

If my system is the only one that does this, I guess there is nothing to fix, eh?

Are you still able to reproduce this in the web app?

I don't recall saying I ever saw this issue on the web app.

Hi.  Isn't that what this is?

Sounds like it could be the same refresh issue I reported in this topic:
