ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I just get a screenshot. How do I fix this please? Thanks.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Here you go. Wait. That has my ip. Not a good idea for public access. Edited July 12, 2021 by ng4ever
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Ok here we go I edited out my ip to * Hope this helps. embyserver.txt

That is weird. It use to work fine. Anyway to figure out why ?
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 I think it has something to do with access to the internet or file access write after updating OS. Forgot I posted in the wrong forum. I run the server on Synology NAS with DSM 7 now. It was on DSM 6.
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 In a browser on the same machine, using the same interface - see if it can get to https://www.themoviedb.org/ If it can, then it could simply be load issues with themovedb - there is nothing emby can do about that - you just need to try again.

Do you know if Plex uses the same site ? Going to try it as well just for a test.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) @rbjtechhow can it be load issues if it works in Plex and Jellyfin ? I just tried as a test. Edited July 12, 2021 by ng4ever
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 .. so does PX and JF run in the same Synology NAS ? You need to ensure that Synology NAS has access to the site as that's what the log is showing. Do you have any other s/w running on the NAS - perhaps a f/w or AV scanner than is blocking the connection ? You may have exceptions in there for PX and JF but not emby ? Just thinking out loud here. I seem to recall there was another post with a similar issue and that turned out to be a 3rd party piece of s/w blocking access - may be worth a search. 1
Luke 42079 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 The issue also may not be the machine but rather something blocking the emby server process from sending those outgoing communications. 1

No other software running on NAS. Ok thank you.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Just now, Luke said: The issue also may not be the machine but rather something blocking the emby server process from sending those outgoing communications. I agree.
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) yep - a quick look at your log reveals any outgoing http request is timing out - it's not just tmdb.org Connection to https://fcm.googleapis.com/fcm/send timed out Presumably a Synology NAS OS upgrade from 6 to 7 must have some form of f/w settings - maybe they did not come across during the upgrade. I would re-install emby again (over the top of the current one) to see if the install process resets the f/w settings ? Hopefully somebody will be a long soon with Synology experience - sorry, I'm not familiar with this NAS. Edited July 12, 2021 by rbjtech

ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 That weird part at first with DSM7 it use to work fine. That is the odd part.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 All I remember is a dlna update coming through a few days ago doubt that had anything to do with it. Though I just tried on a brand new Synology NAS and same thing is happening. Next is to try Emby on Windows just to see. If it does the same thing I will really be confused.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Thankfully on windows emby seems to work with poster images but the Dlna (1.0.67) update just happen again going to restart the Emby server and sees what happens after it updates. This may be the issue but like I said I highly doubt it. Pending Installations The following components have been installed or updated: Dlna (1.0.67)
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Ok cool it still works poster images on windows even after the Dlna update. So it could not have been that.
ng4ever 40 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Thank you for everyone who helped me fix this issue! Finally fixed. This thread is what helped as well! I was really surprised. 1
