TihomirMucko 0 Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Hello, when I try to change the aspect ratio on a 1.78:1 movie from "auto" to "fill" or "cover", nothing happens, the black bars on top and bottom remain. Is there a way to stretch the picture and "fill" the screen, or is it some error perhaps? On movies with different aspect ratios, 2.35:1 for example, the "fill" works perfect, so it's wondering me why it won't work on 1.78:1. Thanks for the help and eventual update in advance! Kind regards.
Luke 42077 Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Hi, most likely the bars are part of the video itself and so that's why this is happening.
TihomirMucko 0 Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 Thanks for the quick response. I also assumed that, and probably that's the case. But wouldn't it be nice to have an option to also stretch 1.78:1 aspect ratio movies? I know there's a possibility to distort the picture a little bit, but that's then for the viewer to decide. An option to mannually adjust the picture to fill up the screen, or fit to full screen for 1:78:1 movies would really be apreciated.
crusher11 1101 Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 A TV screen is 1.78:1, so if the movie is 1.78:1 it's already filling the screen. There's nothing more to be done. 1 1
