gillmacca01 211 Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 Just gone to bed. Early start in the morning. Will try putting python on my laptop tomorrow, but won't be till the evening 1
gillmacca01 211 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Installed python on my laptop and ran python script with same error. Gonna clear everything down and try again
gillmacca01 211 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) Exactly the same error again. The only file created in the folder by the script is tools.pyc. I'm gonna post the steps I took, so you can see if something is wrong with what I am doing Edited July 16, 2021 by gillmacca01
gillmacca01 211 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Downloaded python from link and installed on my laptop. Download script.zip and extracting to my NAS in the 'public/VOD' folder (I have been told I can put python scripts anywhere, so it should work from here).Check the public folder and in VOD is a folder called m3u2strm-nextgen with all the files downloaded the m3u from my provider and placed it in the m3u2strm-nextgen folder Copied and pasted main.py, so a file called called main - Copy.py is created, then renamed it as movies.py m3u file that was downloaded is called movies.m3u, so no need to change the last line of movies.py launched putty on my laptop, enter username and password of my NAS. Console management screen appears. Selected quit to 'return to normal shell environment' Entered the following to navigated to the directory: cd /share/Public/VOD/m3u2strm-nextgen Entered the following: python movies.py Error message appears
Carlo 4560 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 No need to install python on your laptop if you're still doing an SSH/putty to the NAS as you'll still be running things on the NAS. You would want to install the script on your laptop and use python on your laptop to test there.
gillmacca01 211 Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Working on my laptop. Now to figure out why its not working on my NAS 2
gillmacca01 211 Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Been meaning to ask this, but been busy with other things. I have it working via CMD with the folder containing the files mapped to my laptop (haven't got round to looking how to do it on my QNAP). I have one issue remaining. If I run the folder and cmd on my laptop, it works (converts and finishes) , but with cmd on my laptop and folder mapped to my laptop, the python script looks like it is continuously looping, and never ends (have to close CMD and hope all files have been converted). Not sure if it is the script or the m3u file Anyone know why this could be happening, or how to fix it?
