Bingie 99 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Hi all, I followed the how-to install Emby as a service, as best I could, I'm running Microsoft Windows 10 Home, and as you would expect, Microsoft changed everything, hid everything, I had a hard time finding the new screens to add a user, change permissions, etc., but pretty sure I got it all done and correctly. Emby is installed as a service, and if I goto Task Manager->Services, Emby is stopped. I click start and it starts just fine. It's just not auto starting after a reboot. I did notice Windows didn't like the nssm.exe when I pulled up it's properties, put a "lock" on it as unknown, I cleared the lock for that file, so should run now. I'm not sure what's my next step. It's been years since I fiddled with starting services. Open to suggestions at this point Thanks
Bingie 99 Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 LOL I'm a dork, it starts just fine... I was just too impatient. It's set to "delayed start", which means it waits 2 minutes before starting. I didn't wait HAH Okay, installing Emby as a service on Windows 10 Home works w00t!!!! Good luck finding where they hid the screens/options though
Bingie 99 Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 hot damn, tightvnc server installed as a service too w00t, now I can run it headless 1
