VicMoore 754 Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 Hello Neik... You can check them in parallel now. Just check "One or More Match" and then set up tests for each codec. Its possible to extend the number of codecs. I chose 5 because it was the largest number of codecs that my media has. Vic

Just check "One or More Match" Yeah, I discovered that one and it works just fine for the number of codecs displayed. The issue I see is, there are files that have an numerous amount of subtitles (none of my files but I've seen mediainfo exports from files with more than 40 subtitles alone) and that's where I came up with the idea of having one "general codec" field that then searches through every codec field available within a file - no matter how much entries there are. Example: "General Codec": Contains = English This would then trigger a search through all available codec field (video, audio, subtitle). Hope it's somehow clear what I mean.
VicMoore 754 Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 Hello neik... That's a great idea. I will look into the effort needed to implement it. Thanks, Vic 1
jan_axhell 4 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Hello VicMoore, just found this tool and tried it for a while. I have 2 questions: 1 - Is there any way to filter by running time? I'd like to tag Shorts, but I cannot find any way to set some duration limit under which I consider something a Short and not a Movie. 2 - (somewhat a workaround of the above) Is there any way to filter by folder? SInce I don't have a big server with huge storage, I mainly use Emby as a database and to keep track of everything I have on external HDDs, I have mounted each of those as virtual folders with same exact folder-tree. This way I can check everything I have, no matter if it's online or offline. I keep shorts in a /Shorts folder on each HDD, if I could filter by Folder name, I could tag all included files as Shorts. Same for any other possible genre-folder-related tag.
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Hello Jan_axhell... With the custom filter you can filter on 'run time' and 'file size'. With the standard filter you can filter on 'is Folder'. Vic

Vic Hi Vic, thanks, but I still cannot make it work. - I select all movies with Shift-click (14332) - I enter the Custom filter and set Running Time < 45 min - I click Apply - After red bar reaches 100% all 14332 movies are shown. I have all Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin etc shorts, so I know I have many movies shorter that 45 mins, but they are not filtered.. About 'Is Folder': if I set that and enter 'Shorts" in Search for String in the main page with blue buttons, (0) Movies are loaded.. Same if I do that from inside Custom filter, using "title" as string to search + Is Folder = true. Maybe it doesn't work because I use virtual mounts instead of real files?
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 I will check the filter. There may be a bug. Thanks for letting me know. Vic 1
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Try this for filtering on file sizes. Vic #tool_2.5a.zip

Because file sizes are different, I have no reference for that. Anyway no, with Running Time < 45 same as above, it loads all movies, none filtered.
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 select 5 files then click "filter" and then "custom" you can now use the "prev" and "next" buttons to switch between the selected files. When you look at each file (in the custom filter) is column 2 populated with the data from the selected object? Vic

VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Jan_axhell, you can select a few items and then go to the "custom Filter" and experiment with different filter options. Use the "test" button to try out different filter values. Vic
jan_axhell 4 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Yes, I'm doing that right now. What happens is that if I set for instance a Running Time <45 and the object is 87, test shows that line as red, if I set it to >45 it shows it as green. Same for other entries, like Is Folder: if it's a file, it shows as red. I can switch back and forth and see data changing for each movie. But when I apply those conditions, both as "All Must Match" and "One or More must match" the tool shows all movies.
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 A green line means the test is true. If it is red then the test is false. I will experiment with the filter. For me it's working fine. Vic
jan_axhell 4 Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 (edited) Maybe try with a virtual mount? I have a folder in O:\Emby that contains all HDD01, HDD02, etc subfolders. Each is a virtual mount of relative real HDD and Emby is configured to scan files from there when HDD are connected, then it stores data on both HDD and local database. But when HDDs are offline, it only works with local database that points at "ghost HDDs". Maybe the tool gets confused by that? EDIT Found at least one bug: movies that are longer than 100 mins are shown as green even if I set <45 and red if I set >45, so 100 confuses the tool, at that number it inverts true/false. All movie shorter that 100 show red/green correctly. Edited January 18, 2023 by jan_axhell
VicMoore 754 Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 I will test that tonight, thanks for telling me... vic
VicMoore 754 Posted January 19, 2023 Author Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) Thanks to Softworkz on the Emby team we can now fetch and edit Emby images. When you edit an Emby item you can now edit the associated images. Just click the "Edit Image" button under the "Change Image Button." When you do, the image editor will appear. You can change the image and add a variety of borders if you want them. The rotate function still needs some work. Please let me know what doesn't work as expected. VicMoore 754 Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 I will be redoing the "edit image" code soon to include all emby images. vic
VicMoore 754 Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 I rewrote the change image and edit image code in the metadata editor. vic tool_2.7.zip

VicMoore 754 Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 You can now make snapshots of playing videos and then use these snapshots when changing or editing the Emby images. This is very useful for making your own video image metadata. Vic tool_2.8.zip 1 2
VicMoore 754 Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 (edited) Hello Neik... Yes I have looked at implementing your idea. It's not easy to do, and I have a list of simple to implement ideas that I have wanted to do for some time. I want to get through this list first. Thanks for reminding me. pmac 143 Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Hi, @VicMoore I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a bug, or just using your tool incorrectly; I'm trying to apply a custom filter to my movie library so that I can bulk tag all movies that contain a certain term in their filename. When I selected a few movies to test the filter I can cycle through them with "prev" "next" and they change from green to red depending on whether they meet the filter criteria, but when I click on "apply" it just sits at 1% and doesn't do anything. Am I using the tool wrong?
